Does he love you?

I sat in the silence of the safe room for an hour and watched him pace the pool area, calling out and refusing to leave. Finally he left and I curled up on the massive king size bed and cried my eyes out. Like really cried; the gross red blood that wouldn't stop. I was shattered through and through, completely broken. He'd been hiding a huge secret from me...he was getting addicted to blood, vampire blood and it was destroying him. I knew it was always a risk we took when we made love, exchanging blood to renew our bond but he assured me he was fine. The small quantities I assumed would do no harm and now...he was nothing more than an addict looking for his next hit. I was just a source of what he wanted.

Finally around midnight I wiped my face and sat up, feeling so empty inside. Bill had a right to know who he was sharing a bed with, I wouldn't tell him but I would make sure she did. I cleaned my face off and changed into some jeans and a t-shirt, pulled my hair up into a messy pony tail and grabbed my keys to head to the mansion.

Using my key I let myself in quietly and looked around searching for Bill.

Kiara sighed. She had spent the day dodging the guards, mostly because she had some very private things to do, one of which was now on her computer screen. Part of her wanted to weep for it.

At her compound she had had a full medical bay installed, mostly for the donors but right now an area was closed off for her own use. With state of the art machines and private doctors she was trying to find a cure to something that was killing her.

She stared at an MRI of her head, more importantly of her brain. Each cross section had tale tell dark spots; little inoperable tumors brought on by years of constant drug use, V and glamouring. She sighed. Soon she would have to make a decision on this or risk losing herself again and becoming the monster she once was.

She took down the picture and went back to what she'd originally been doing, finalizing her will. It was sad to think at her age she had to think of such things but she had known long ago she wouldn't live much longer. The guards were pacing outside her office, irritating her. Bill had made good on his promise of having a permanent look on her. Not that she deserved any less, she'd betrayed everyone and she was sleeping on the bed she'd made.

I peeked into Bill's office and saw no one there. "Can I help you Miss Hamby?" I turned to see one of his guards. Looking around once more I spoke, "Where's Bill, I need to speak with him." He smiled. "Mr. Compton has left the estate for the night for a walk. He often does that." I sighed and wondered if the little tramp was here.

"Is uh...Kiara here? I need to talk to her, you know...girl talk?" He chuckled. "I'm sorry Miss Hamby but you aren't allowed to go near Miss Griffen." I smiled and stepped forward. "Well, isn't that just too bad?" He furrowed his brows but before he could react I snapped his neck and let him fall to the ground.

I slowly made my way through the mansion, glamouring guards to leave and the ones who couldn't be glamoured...they died. The last two guards stood on each side of her office door and I knew she was behind it. "Step aside, I have a meeting with Miss Griffen." I tried to remain businesslike and unaffected by my emotions.

Kiara rubbed her eyes. Her head seemed to be always in a headache state and staring at a screen was killing her. She saved her work and leaned back, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

She heard voices outside her office door. It sounded like the guards were talking with someone. She paid it no mind at first, figuring it was a change of shift or something. She stood, heading to the small mini fridge in her office. She opened it and pulled out a cold bottle of water. She took a long drink, draining the bottle by half.

She debated taking a long soak. She had much to do but under doctors orders she had to take it easy. "Avoid severe activities, physical or otherwise" he'd said. Well she was hoping to follow instructions, but if the guards kept making noise she would have to go settle things herself.

They were relentless in not allowing me through because Kiara needed to 'rest', well she can rest when she's dead. I slammed their heads together like I'd seen done in so many movies and figured I'd give it a shot. Worked like a charm at how they dropped unconscious, but alive. I stepped over them and opened the door to see her back to me. Closing it I folded my arms across my chest and smiled. "What's with all the guards? Bill seems extra protective of...you." I said stepping forward slightly.

Kiara turned around. Shit...Jessica. She looked up at the ceiling for a moment. God... whenever you want to end the paybacks that'll be great...she thought before she sat on her lounge chair, water bottle in hand, a pill bottle in the other.

"They're not protecting me... they're ensuring I behave" she muttered. She set the bottle down and opened the pill bottle, taking out two green looking pills. Gods how she hated drugs with a passion but anything beat nursing a migraine all night.

I laughed at her comment and walked over to her desk, hopping up and making myself comfortable. "Making sure you behave....well to bad they missed you a few nights ago huh. I mean, could have saved you from being such a slut." I glared at her with a very cold looking smirk as she took some kind of pills. "I don't think they make a pill for what you have Kiara. But I'd be happy to make one." I waited to see what her excuse would be and see if she'd try to cover it up.

She chuckled darkly. So Quinn had told her, good for him. She felt a swell of pride in him. Maybe his relationship could survive a brush with her.

She then smirked at her comment about pills. Yes, in terms of her whoredom and her actual illness, no pill would save her. "You're right Jessica... no pill or shot or anything in his world can cure what I have. Only death's ever elusive embrace can do that" she said matter of factly before she drank the meds.

I watched her seem so cryptic in her ways of taking her pills and acting all 'woe is me' but I knew she deep down felt some kind of pride that Quinn still carried a torch for her. And why? I had no idea. I figured he was entitled to his past since he never judged me for my own, which let's face it wasn't exactly great. Quinn betrayed me on many levels but so did she, I thought she was my friend.

"I don't ever know why I thought I could be your friend. Something told me, that little voice you're not supposed to listen to because it's paranoia, that you weren't exactly over one another. But did I listen to it?" I chuckled and hopped off her desk and walked over to where she sat. "No...I didn't. So I guess fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, this time..." I got closer to her face, "I don't know how I'm not ripping your heart out and shoving it down your throat. How could you do that to me....to BILL! How? Why?"

I stood and grabbed the sides of my face. "I just don't get why you could do something like that, after everything. I thought I could trust you."

Kiara blinked, suddenly an idea in her head. Not the best option on her end since Quinn would probably be pissed BUT... if Quinn wasn't going to let her die then surely goading Jessica into a fight would. Now if she were an irrational territorial vampire... what would her trigger be... she smirked, like that question was REALLY that hard to answer.

She stood and grinned, casually stepping beside Jessica "What can I say? Once a whore ALWAYS a whore right?" she said with a mocking tone.

"If it makes you feel better Quinn did stop me from sleeping with him. After all he always had the morals. I just needed to fuck because its what I do best... aside from you know, keeping secrets and lying"

I gaped at her and her comments, a smile coming to my face. "Well at least someone has morals. You lost yours a long time ago. Whether he stopped you or not, it doesn't excuse the fact that you're engaged to my maker and I'm not the only one getting hurt in this."

I shook my head in disbelief. "But you don't care do you? Did you ever care?"

Kiara wanted to laugh at Jessica's last comment. Oh she cared. She cared so much she wasn't willing to be on this earth much longer. She'd made her peace with Bill, she doubted it'll happen with Jessica, and as for Quinn... well he may be angry but eventually, like all animals he'd understand the craving for death.

But thats not what she had to say right now. No, if she wanted a fight she'd have to dig deep into her ugly past and bring back the skills that once made her a menace in Mississippi.

"No Jessica...I never cared. I'm incapable of caring for anyone but myself" she said in a blank voice. She was only grateful that little Sophie was fast asleep and guarded far from here, otherwise the child would cry at hearing Kiara lie like this.

I nodded realizing something. "You...really are that fucked up aren't you? I mean here you go and ruin everything that was good. Hurt the people who love you. You don't deserve to die, you deserve to live....live and remember every.single.day that you were such a terrible person. I just hope you're happy."

I turned away from her and started for the door, but stopped and looked over my shoulder. "I came here thinking I'd realize you were never my friend and it'd be easy to kill you. But I realize now, it's probably all you wanted in the first place."

Kiara laughed "Oh mark my words Jessica I will die.. in fact.. my days are numbered as we speak" she said casually.

She leaned against her head. "Your hand.. Bill's.. it didn't matter whose. A quick simple death is far better than a slow and painful one. I think...I rather die being me...than die being something I am not" she said softly.

She then sighed wishfully. Jessica was being too levelheaded so it was time to get REAL ugly. "were you jealous though? To know that even when you hold his heart...you will never ignite his passion like me?" she nodded "It figures...in the end vampires are too frigid for an animal... we know it deep inside. We'll use good skills, pretend to enjoy it just to keep you moody creatures happy"

I turned to face her completely and listened to her words. They stung, they cut deep too. Part of me knew she was right and that's exactly what hurt the most. The passion in his eyes was not the same he held for me. Before I spoke, I walked up to her and smacked her across the face. The loud smack made her head jolt to the side and I clenched my jaw tightly. "Don't you talk about things you don't know about. It was you wasn't it? It was YOU who gave him the V right?" I stepped closer to her, nose to nose and all I wanted to do was strangle her and watch the life slip from her eyes.

Kiara smirked with the slap but then her eyes narrowed.

"V...?" she asked. Why on earth would she give him...meaning Quinn V? Gods the thought of that... she gasped and was suddenly ontop of Jessica, pinning her down, her eyes bright orange and the scent of pure unadulterated rage coming off her body.

When she spoke her voice was a feral growl and her body an unmovable boulder. "Look. I don't give a fuck WHAT you think or do to me. Hell, rip out my spine and skip rope with it but if you have ANY ounce of good in you then you will GET.HIM.OFF.V" she growled.

"It's YOUR fault he's hooked. Let me guess..." she began to imitate Jessica's voice but still a hint of growl. "Oh Quinn I love you... lets bond over sex because I'm a stupid shit and don't know what V does to a tiger" she mocked.

"A wolf is angry on V... we're stronger on V... hell the sex is a-fucking-mazing on V... but A tiger on V is a nuclear bomb with a fault timer... It's not a matter of 'if'.. it's a matter of 'when' and when Quinn loses control..." she smirked, for once, a crazed look on her face, like she relished very much the idea of Quinn falling into a pit of mental darkness. "...well woe to anyone within a good four mile radius.." she said, the idea of death making her shiver in delight.

"If you love him like you 'claim' you do then you will do everything to make him stop. Hell lock him in a bunker and force him to go cold turkey I don't care just DO IT"

I fell back onto the floor and growled back as she did. When she imitated me I narrowed my eyes and went to speak when she started yelling about the differences between wolves on V and tigers on V. Her pleas to get him off the V still replaying in my head. I grabbed her shoulders and went to roll her off of me and she continued to talk.

"...well woe to anyone within a good four mile radius.."

I looked down at her as I sat on top her, holding her hands down easily.

"If you love him like you 'claim' you do then you will do everything to make him stop. Hell lock him in a bunker and force him to go cold turkey I don't care just DO IT"

I narrowed my eyes and studied her, was this all just a ploy or was she really sincere. Speaking through my teeth I gave her a final warning. "You.Stay.Away.From.Him.Understand?" I released her arms and stood, looking down at her. "Or so help me God, I will kill you and make it slow and painful that you wished you'd lived this hell than suffer by my hand."

She laughed hard and darkly. "Oh Jessica.. your best torture is child's play to what I've endured" she said as she tapped her head.

"There is nothing you or Quinn could conceive that hasn't already been done... Quinn doesn't even know half of what I endured and he learned torture from the best" she said with a smirk.

She then waived her hand. "But by all means keep feeding him your blood and clinging to that desperation. Chances are he doesn't even like your blood now and is seeking a more powerful source"

I wasn't going to stand there and argue with her, she thought she was affecting me and deeply she was but I refused to give her the satisfaction of knowing it. I just smiled and shook my head. "I'll never know why Bill ever took in a mutt like you." Ignoring her last comment about my blood not being good enough, I sped out of that room and to my car. Where would Quinn be? Should I call him? Just start looking? Who would give him V? Pam? Eric? Lafayette! My only hope lay in his hands, if he didn't know maybe he could point me where I could find another V dealer.
