She was hopeful that he was being truthful and that he would be happy again, normal. Maybe this sun thing was permanent...well, she hoped. It would be the best of both worlds. She smiled and watched him weakly move over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders and looking into her eyes. She listened and refrained from protesting that they would be separated, knowing it was possible. Anything was possible now and they were still at some kind of risk.
"I know Bill, I promise I'll never forget. Whatever happens...I'll always look at you as the best father I ever had." She flew into his arms, gently, and hugged him tightly, but not too tight. "I love you, Bill."
With that, she turned and left his study. The sounds of laughter, chatter and celebration filled her ears. "HEY! Whoever wants to borrow some clothes, follow me." She fought back her own tears and headed upstairs for a long shower and fresh clothes, oblivious to anyone following her because her thoughts were still on Bill....and Quinn.
