A job well done? Empty A job well done?

Post by Kiara Griffen Sat Dec 14, 2013 11:59 am

Kiara was so tired. It was already noon by the time all the security had been re-done. Extra cameras had been set up, more personnel put around the mansion. She had triple checked the blood stores in the basement, made sure there was enough for Bill, Jessica and Brianna for several months. She finished making notes on everything she’d done, on all the new security codes, new personnel and every other detail Bill would want to know.

She took the paper as she headed up the stairs. The mansion was quiet as she had ordered security to remain outside. Even as she opened the door to the master bedroom she saw the travel coffin right by the bed. Even as exhausted as she was she set the paper with the information on the night stand and opened the coffin. Sure enough there was Bill, locked in his day sleep. Her body ached, her bruised hip looked nasty and there were dark circles under her bloodshot eyes. She picked up Bill as best she could and set him on the bed. At least there he’d be really comfortable despite being dead to the world. She set the travel coffin aside and peeled off her sweaty and dirty clothes. With no energy left she collapsed unto the couch in the bedroom. The room was so dark and quiet she was asleep before her head even hit one of the cushions. Her left arm hung off the couch, her hand touching the floor. She’d done all she could now. Bill was home safe, Jessica was someone in the mansion as well and Brianna was accounted for. She’d written down everything so Bill would be informed as soon as he woke. Now she’d earned a few hours of sleep.

    Bill could not remember anything.

He was locked in darkness and he could not remember a single thing.

All that he could remember was that his body had stolen him from his night ritual before his mind had soon began to follow suite as the pull from the sun had pulled him for his rest. His body slowly regenerating from the agonizing pain and the blood loss that he had created for himself as he could feel their pain.

    His progeny.

He had never felt such pain before, a pain that crippled him to the point of fearing closing his eyes but his body battling to win the war to bring him to rest. As his fingers flexed and formed into tight fists as he strangled the freshness out of the soft material beneath him.

He could feel every bit of the pain again as though his memory wanted to strike against him for allowing himself to believe that he could let his guard down as his eyes shot open as he at up in a blind panic his facade of pretending to be human had stuck with him as he let out loud hisses of un-needed breath as it hissed through his clenched teeth.

The room was still very dark, the sun still not fully down on the horizon. The only sound that broke the silence were the faint snores of Kiara passed out on the couch. Her body felt cold, sleeping bare without any cover but her body was too stubborn to wake and do something about it.

The dark circles under her eyes had faded for the most part. Her hair was a mess, her lips parted as the light snores escaped her throat.

After a few minutes there was a tiny hiss in the room as the shutters began to open up. The sun was down despite there being some orange and pink that stained the sky. Even in the fading light one could see the increased number of guards.

A buzzing noise came from where Kiara was. Her phone buzzed as the alarm she always had set went off to wake her at the same time Bill would normally be awake. However she was still so out of it the alarm did nothing to make her stir.

Bill's erratic panting of a man that did not need to breath became slower at a steady pace as though he was waking into some nightmare from hell. His eyes quickly scanned around the room as they darted back and forth to figure out his bearings as he felt himself relax when he knew were he was. Hearing the snores of Kiara instantly as he knew that he was back in his own room in Bon Temps.

He looked down to see that he was still wearing the exact same clothes that he had on whilst in Texas as he instantly spotted dried blood on his once white shirt. Quickly peeling himself of his shirt as he tossed it to the floor as he swung his legs out of bed.

Standing to his feet as could see that the shutters were not yet up which meant that the sun had not fully set and knew that he would be confined to this room for a short while. As he spotted a naked Kiara passed out on the couch he slowly crept over to her, his body still weak from the blood loss, the vampire in him had taken over him.

As he crouched down to his knees as his hand drifted across her flat stomach as it slowly crept across her waist as he spotted dark bruises in shapes of hand prints as he pressed his hand against them as they fit to his own.

A soft sleepy groan escaped her lips, followed by a wiggle of her lower body. Something was urging her to wake, something in her mind told her she was supposed to wake up but she felt so good just sleeping that she didn't want to wake up. She'd never been a morning person anyways, even if morning for her was at sundown.

Goosebumps crawled along her skin, the cold finally catching up to her. Her snoring stopped as a frown etched on her face. Her right hand which was laying lazily on her side twitched, as if trying to reach for a blanket that wasn't there.

She groaned again, this time licking her lips. Despite her phone buzzing to wake her it had been the cold that woke her up. Her sleep laden eyes opened up a bit. Her hand reached out more, seeking something to curl up with and instead of a blanket her fingers found soft dark locks.

She frowned, slowly blinking her eyes in the darkness. That was definitely not a blanket and it took her mind a few moments to figure out what it was.

"Bill.....?" she called out, her voice tiny and soft. It was only until her mind registered what she'd realized that her eyes widened and she sat up.

"Bill" she said, her voice a bit stronger. This time out of fear that something else horrible was happening again.

Bill continued to gaze at the bruises that he had made and tried to fathom when he had caused such a marking on her body. He remembered that she always told him that she did not mind bearing the marks of their encounters but this was different.

This was brutal markings that he had created.

He could hear her call to him but he did not respond as his ears picked up the buzzing from his own cell as he caught a glimmer of a green light flashing from the table next to the bed. Hear voice rang in his ears as he did nothing.

"No" he whispered as he forced himself to his feet and turned from her.

Kiara brought her hands up and rubbed her eyes.

"Bill... is...is something happening?" she asked, unaware of how painful her bruises looked now. She swung her legs to the side and stood, stumbling just a bit as she shook the sleepiness from her head.

The automatic lights along the walls turned on, bathing the room in soft blue light that wouldn't be harsh for Bill's eyes. It gave her enough light to see where he was.

"Are you alright? Are you still in pain?" she asked with concern in her voice.

Bill did not respond to her.

    He held his tongue.

He could feel his anger bubbling inside of him again as he turned and caught a quick glance at the bruises that he had created as he tossed Kiara a gown to dress herself as he needed her to cover them up as he did not know what he would do.

"No...You should get dressed. We have work to do" he instructed her.

Kiara nodded, but something was wrong. Had she forgotten something? Had she done something that Bill didn't agree with now?

She caught the gown he tossed at her and she got dressed. "Bill...w-whats wrong? I... did I do something wrong? I only wanted to get you to safety" she said, unsure on how to approach him, but definitely not wanting to set off his anger again.

Bill could hear her plead with him asking if she had done something wrong, but in all terms he was more angry at himself then anything else. He had already begun to peel himself of his old clothes and instantly began dressing himself with a fresh attire.

"You did everything right...You took risks that you shouldn't have needed to take. You put your life at risk to save mine when I told you to run and not to look back" he reminded her.

Polishing himself off with his neat attire as he turned back around to Kiara.

"Your physically hurt by my actions, and do not lie to me. I can feel how painful they are" he grunted disgusted by his actions.

She frowned, a confused look on her face "hurt by your actions...?" she asked before it dawned on her he was talking about her bruises.

"OH!" she said and she broke into a warm smile. "These? Bill why do you worry about these? I was only glad I could snap you out of how angry you were... "

She walked over to him, touching his shoulder. "Don't be so upset Bill... I was willing to do anything if it meant seeing you come back to the brooding serious vampire that I know and love" she said as she leaned in and kissed his cheek.

"I will heal... I was more worried about you and how in pain you looked"

"But you should not have to" he told her.

As he turned from her again to pick up his cell to flash through the messages as he noticed that he had two as he quickly read them.

"William, you need to be careful. Someone in Texas sent assassins for your progeny. I have Jessica and we are heading back to your estate. I sent Violet's human to get some guards to protect your other progeny" - James

~Wolves at the door. Ghosting for a while. We are safe. Clues point to TX~ - Arabella

Tossing his phone to the bed as he could feel the anger starting up in him again as he turned to Kiara.

"It will not be happening again......Not until I have taken Texas" he growled.

She walked over to the night stand and grabbed the paper she'd written at noon. "Jessica is in the mansion..I believe she's still resting. Already redoubled all security personnel and triple checked all identities. I verified that Brianna is also safe as well" she said, handing him the paper.

She smiled gently at him. "I know you probably want to check on everything so I put all the information on your office desk"

She knew she would probably not get to spend any time with Bill for a while since his mind would be consumed with revenge, so at least she was glad they could have a semi civilized conversation.

"Thank you Kiara" he thanked as he scanned the paper thoroughly.

As he folded the paper and stuffed it into his pocket.

"I am going to need you to use what contacts you have to recall any and all weaponry that Governor Burrell had acquired and place an order for as much as you can get your hands on. If Isabel wants a war, she will get one" he growled.

He quickly scanned out as he could feel that Jessica was safe in her room with James and would speak with her when she was healed as he did not want to disturb her.

"I shall be making an appointment of seeing Quinn, should you wish to be there that is your choice. I will not force you" he offered.

She nodded "It's up to you Bill... I don't want to hinder you in any way. If me staying behind keeps you focused then I'll stay behind" she said with a soft smile.

Her mind was already going through all her contacts. Anti-vampire weaponry should be easy enough to get, it was just moving it here that would be the issue but she'd cross that bridge when she got to it.

"You will not hinder me Kiara, but from now on you will be having a guard with you. A dear friend of mine who I can trust with your protection. I shall make the arrangements this evening" he told her.

Walking up to her as his hand rested softly on her hip as to not hurt her any more than he already had done.

"But security shall be doubled for everyone, there shall be no debate about that. I can already picture Quinn's reaction when I ask him a favour. But I will do anything and everything to protect what is mine" he whispered "You should get some rest, tomorrow is a new day and you shall need all your strength" he told her.

She nodded. The idea of a guard constantly with her was not appealing but she wouldn't argue with Bill.

She looked down at his hand then back into his eyes. She lifted her arms and draped them loosely along his shoulders. "I know its wrong of me to take up your time" she whispered, leaning in close "but I nearly lost you Bill... I don't want to lose you again" she added as she placed a soft kiss on his lips.

"Your not going to loose me....I have been in far more dire situations than what is going to happen. Trust me I am not going any where" he promised her.

Responding to her kiss as he held her there for a few breathless moments before pulling back as he gazed at her.

"Rest.....I need to check on Jessica and Brianna" he told her.

She nodded, but the look in her eyes was one of sadness. It wasn't that she didn't want him to check on his vampire daughters, but it was more of that feeling that Isabel had in a way accomplished her goal. She'd set up a wall between her and Bill, a wall she could now exploit.

She took a step back, pulling away from him and turning around to head into the bathroom. At least she could shower and make herself a little less gross tonight.

Bill could feel the anguish coming from Kiara in waves as it assaulted his emotions and he knew that he was hurting her by acting the way that he was, but now he needed to truly focus. Isabel needed his attention and he knew that he had to begin his ways of preparing for his first attack. As he exited the bedroom the shutters now fully open signalling night had sunk in.

He needed to go and check in on Jessica, he needed to see for himself that she was alright for himself. Then he would go to see John Quinn, there was something that he needed to ask him.
