Homecoming

Kiara couldn’t make the car go any faster. She had spoken to King William and had rushed to get a plane ticket back to Louisiana. She wanted to arrive at night, just at sunset so she could see Bill as quickly as possible.

It had been heart wrenching to leave Sophie. She was so precious and Kiara just wanted to take her with but she knew it was not safe at all, not after what she’d learned about Roxanne. She had even rushed to get her surprise all packed up but her mind was more focused on murderous thoughts than her well thought out surprise.

“Please..how much longer?” she asked the driver.

“We’ll be arriving in 5 minutes” said the driver. Kiara looked out the tinted window. The last bit of sunlight had disappeared from the sky as she checked her phone. She had already called security at the mansion to let them know she was arriving. On one hand she was glad she’d be able to see Bill again. She had to admit she had missed him. Even just being away from him for a few days had been painful, mostly when she had to lay down in a big bed all alone. She’d grown so used to his presence, to his arms around her, to waking up to his kisses on her bare skin.

She smiled at the thought. She just hoped she got back in time before any of the damage that her anxious thoughts concocted came true.

It had been one full night.

Blood pooled around Bill's ears as he could feel it trickle down the sides of his neck and soak into his shirt. With the lack of blood that he had consumed, his body was trying to hold itself together. He was slowly loosing the plot with himself and everything around him. He had allowed Isabel's informant into his home, she had tried to work her way into his bed. But what irritated him the most was the fact that someone else had discovered it before he did. Arabella and John fucking Quinn!

His anger had been the tip of the scale since yesterday, James had come to him after Willa had left and wanted to let him know that he was taking Jessica out for the evening. He agreed to it only because he wished to be alone, and had ordered extra guards to accompany them.

His office had bared the brunt of his anger and frustrations as he sat in a chair in the far side of his bedroom. He could hear basic chatter between the guards who complained about having to clear his office once again. The sound of clogging feet practically dancing around his office to make sure that it was cleared as soon as possible.

His body was weak, he had not allowed himself to succumb to day rest, his blood boiling with his own stupidity for allowing himself to be fooled once again. Roxanne was now gone, back to Isabel with what information that she could gather when his back was turned. The room was dark as he still wore the same clothes from yesterday, blood coating and spreading through his once white shirt as his blood had already begun to dry against his cool flesh. He had ordered that no one disturb him as he wished to remain alone without disruption.

He just needed to be alone with his own anger and stupidity.

Finally she reached the mansion. She rushed out of the door, not even waiting for the guards to take out her luggage.

She burst through the door, looking around, needing to see Bill first. "Bill!" she called out, seeing some of the guards and servants sort of idle around near the office, carrying broken things, vacuuming out stuff. She took a peek into the office. Most of the furniture was trashed, there was glass and just a mess everywhere.

Bill wasn't in the office. She looked around and didn't see any sign of that bitch Roxanne. "Bill?" she called again, this time making her way upstairs. She made a beeline for the master bedroom, knocking twice before opening the door.

"Bill..." she whispered, seeing a dark figure near the corner. She turned on the dimmer switch, bringing a bit of light into the room. It was Bill in the corner, disheveled, bloody and looking like he hadn't gone to his dayrest at all.

"Sweetie...what happened? Are you hurt?"

Bill remained in darkness.

Silent.

His anger was pulsing through his blood, as though is was heating his skin, raising his temperature to that of beyond a human. He had not only let himself down, he had let everybody else down by allowing a spy into his home, putting everyone as risk. But he could hear her.....Kiara. She was home. She was home, in the room.

But he still did not say a word.

Kiara took a few steps towards him. She could smell the anger, the blood, the rage.

"Bill....speak to me...what happened?" she asked, afraid that Roxanne or Isabel had already reached Bill and done something terrible.

She finally reached him and touched his shoulder. She wasn't sure what to do. She'd come rushing home expecting to kill Roxanne, not to find Bill all wound up.

He could feel her around him in a white mist that had on the verge of letting out the anger upon her in a way that she would never forget. But he could not trust himself around her, not when he feared himself.

"I got played" he whispered angrily.

He had gotten played, and he had allowed it.

Kiara knelt down, looking up at Bill.

"I got played"

She sighed, quickly putting two and two together. "You found out about Roxanne huh? I know she works with Isabel... " she said softly.

"Bill...you being angry... all messed up isn't helping" she said, the anger she rode with coming back to the forefront of her mind.

"So either nut up or go back to a coffin and cry like a baby..." she said, letting out a low growl as she stood. "I'm going to go kill Roxanne. I already know she isn't here...but her scent is heavy..." she said as she turned her head.

She had certainly caught Bill's attention with her words as his head turned as his eyes gazed at her for the first time since she had entered the room.

"She is gone and won't be coming back....She knows that I know" he told her, his voice in a deep growl.

He still could not believe that he had allowed this to happen. Pushing himself from his chair as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell and hit dial connecting him to his best tracker in his squad.

"I want you to put together a team. The target....Roxanne McKee....Do not let her leave the state. Use any methods that you see fit. But I want her alive!" he snarled into his cell.

If Isabel wanted to play games...Then he could play right back.

Kiara chuckled. "I suppose thats the difference between you and I Bill....you order people to find others....I find them myself" she said as she sniffed the room and wrinkled her nose.


"She was here alright... perfume... unspent lust... I'm sure both of you left unsatisfied from this room. Lets see...." she said as she leaned against the door.

"From what I know of you and of bitches... and predictable behavior... you were silly enough to take her somewhere...somewhere... perhaps to where Brianna is with Quinn" she said as she crossed her arms to think.

"Quinn....quinn.... hmm..... bastard figured out quickly who she worked for... after all he's been playing Isabel as well..." she chuckled and shook her head.

"Call off your guards... you're wasting time. Quinn has, or knows exactly where Roxanne is. Either Quinn is using her as a pin cushion or as leverage against Isabel"

Bill ended the call as Kiara began sniffing out the room. 

"Yes...She was here...She attempted to seduce me into bed. Of course I refused and I received a note from Arabella" he ended.

Of course!

Quinn!

He knew exactly where she was, he had to. Her sudden disappearance had come to quickly for her to even realise who the note was from. There was no other option, it had to have been him.

"The fool! He has made his last attempt to undermine me in my own Kingdom!" he snarled again heavily.

She chuckled "Oh Bill...you can be so adorable" she said.

"Quinn has no interest in you, your kingdom... nothing. Quinn serves himself... everyone else around him is a pawn"

She paced around a bit, thinking. She knew Quinn enough and what he was probably doing and having Bill charge in for a 'who has a bigger dick' battle wasn't going to help.

"Look... you being angry at Quinn is pointless. Jessica still likes him and I'm sure Brianna has fallen for his charm...so you're not going to endear yourself to anyone" she began as she looked at him.

"Let Quinn have his fun...I'll go kill Roxanne and you can boast about how big your penis is to everyone"

Bill had proceeded to the master bathroom as he filled the porcelain sink with warm water as he washed away the dried blood from his ears and nose. Draining the water as he deposited the cloth into the hamper.

"It is the reason that he still lives...because of Jessica....And Brianna would not be that foolish and I would think that he would know that it would end any truce that we have built. Her life rests in his hands..." he growled at Kiara "I hardly think a pissing contest is appropriate Kiara"

Entering the master bedroom again as he glanced at Kiara.

"I do not need you to kill her yet...I need answers from her. Then you are free to do with her what you wish" he told her "But I am curious...How did you find out about Roxanne?" he asked curiously.

Kiara shrugged "happy coincidence I suppose. Someone called to begin business with me and my blood products... he happened to know about Roxanne's past and what she was up to" she said casually. She didn't want to get into another argument by mentioning it was King William.

She shook her head and sighed "I'll let you wash up, I need to bring up my stuff anyways"

"Leave it...That is what the staff is for" he told her.

He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead.

"I missed you while you where gone...How is Sophie? Is she well?" he quizzed her.

She smiled, her anger dissipating when she thought of Sophie.

"She's doing well... she wants to come home but she's hanging in there. She's also a budding artist...if you got my last message" she said with a smile on her face.

She winkled her nose again. "come on Bill... you don't look good in these day old clothes"

"No...It appears that I did not...I have had other distractions on my plate. But I am glad that she is well. But it is not safe for anyone around here at the moment. I have considered moving somewhere that would be hard for us to find, but I would have to consider everything" he smirked a little

Hearing her remark about his day old clothes made him chuckle.

"Sweetheart it has been days since I have seen you...And as much as I would like to loose myself in you. I fear that I would give you the satisfaction that you require tonight" he regretted.

She blinked and chuckled. "Sweetie... as much as you like to think I only think of sex...I actually meant getting you a change of clothes... you smell like day old blood and anger and it isn't becoming" she said as she rolled her eyes.

She stepped away from his arms and walked to his closet to grab fresh clothes. "Besides... you don't really look composed or in any position of authority right now... "

"Yes...well I have not had my head in the game for the last few nights" he assured her.

He began peeling his soiled shirt from his body as he deposited on the floor by his feet as he accepted the fresh shirt from Kiara as he slid it over his shoulders.

"Authority or no authority...Things are going to change around here. No one in or out without my knowing. Including you sweetheart. I will not allow another occurrence like this to happen again" he instructed her.

She chuckled "Well...if I recall correctly...YOU hired Roxanne... and then" she crossed her arms "yelled at me for being rude to her" she said with a raised eyebrow.

She sighed "how about... you leave the hiring decisions to me ok?"

"I concur....But I shall be hiring no one for quite sometime" he told her.

Bill hated himself that he had put himself into this position, that he had allowed Quinn to sneak in under his nose and steal Roxanne before he had a chance to do what he needed. 

"I shall be making a visit to our friend John Quinn. He can have his fun for a few days....But I can assure you that he will know his place" he growled.

She chuckled "Bill...you don't listen do you? Quinn could care less about your rules and things. To him you're just a... a vampire with a crown. He only submits politely to keep you from screwing up anything he has planned"

She moved to sit on the bed. "if I didn't know better...I'd say you're just wanting to pick a fight with Quinn"

"And what gave you that idea sweetheart?" he asked quizzing her.

He paced back and forth with his arms wrapped around his back.

"Quinn has been a thorn in my side since the moment that I met him, his relationship with Miss Stackhouse was just the beginning. But now he has interfered with my state and now has my captive hostage" he growled.

Quinn! Quinn! Quinn!

"I need to find out where he has her...." he stated to himself.

Kiara shrugged as she reached to remove her boots. "Well...then I'll leave you to try and pick Quinn's brain" she said as she kicked off her shoes and wiggled her toes.

She now felt tired. She went from angry, to worried to just numb all in the course of a night. The happiness she'd had with Sophie seemed a million miles away.
