Arabella exited the King's office with annoyance. His words still echoed in her mind.
"Thank you Arabella. I am certain you were as detailed as I myself would have been. I will look over the report when I can afford the time. Until then, you may return to your other duties."
She was in no mood for games, but what could she do? He was the king, and she had another matter to attend to. She walked down to her own rooms and changed clothes into something a bit more reserved, and grabbed a bottle of blood from the warmer in her rooms. Cassia was sleeping and she was not in the mood to play, so this bottled stuff would have to do. She did not need to be hungry for the next meeting she had in mind. This one she would have to be careful, for if it went south, everything she had worked for was in danger. She finished off the bottle, and kisses Cassia's cheek lightly before she went in search of the guard, Mathew. She had an idea of where he would be, but wanted to be wrong so she went to the guards' break room hoping to catch him there. When he was not there, one of those that was mentioned seeing him headed toward the residential wings.
Arabella sighed. She was hoping Brianna was truthful that there was nothing between her and Mathew but things were starting to point otherwise. With a bit more resolve, she walked toward the residential wing.
