I watched as Bill sped out of the mansion. The look in his eyes pure embarrassment, horror, and regret. He knew this wasn't him. I was worried as to what he might do. Kiara still layed still, I could sense a heartbeat...maybe? At this point I wasn't sure if I was hearing things or just wishing. I shook her body. "Kiara! Come on....you're healing on the outside, what's taking so long. COME ON! PLEASE!" She had become my friend. I hated her at first, but now...she was caring and funny and so much more. I ran my hand over her head pushing hair back. I failed...my end of the plan was to keep her alive...and I failed. My blood wasn't working. I kept massaging her throat praying that she would swallow or that it would go down. The wounds on her neck healed...now it was just a waiting game. I didn't know what to do anymore, but wait.

Kiara remained still, but her heart was slowly beating inside her. Her breathing was still way too low for it to be safe but she was not dead, not yet at least.

As Jessica rolled her around her phone fell out of her pocket, breaking the silence in the death filled room. The amount of blood in the room was beginning to leave a very foul smell. Rotting organic material coupled with death and just the destruction of the room in general.

The dresser was gone, the desk in shambles, even ironically the closet that Bill had installed for Kiara, with all her pretty, unworn clothes lay in shambles, the clothes off their hangers or torn, most of them now soaked in blood. A visual testament of the broken relationship the wolf and the king now had.

I heard the clack on the floor and looked to see her cell had fell out of her pocket. I sighed and grabbed the phone knowing I had to do the right thing. My hands still bloody, hit send on the first name on the favorites list. Luckily I had the same kind of phone, iphone 4. It listed 'Work Quinn' and 'Home Quinn' so I just hit the first one. It rang twice and went to voicemail. "Shit." I hung up and hit 'Home Quinn'...someone in this damn phone would answer. After 3 long rings I heard a deep male voice. "Hi, This is Jessica...Jessica Hamby. I'm a um friend of Kiara Griffen.....Who are you to her?"

I did NOT want to tell him that she may be dying...or die....or dead on the phone. I closed my eyes and prayed God would send me the right thing to say. Maybe he could help? But really...if vampire blood wasn't helping, what else could help.

~growls deeply into the phone, annoyed to have been awakened~

"That is not important. What has happened? Only three people have this number. You are not one of them."

~clicking the phone to speaker mode, I throw on clothes while I listen to the caller~

I sighed. "Look asshole, no need to be a dick okay. There's been....an accident. I'm a vampire, I gave her blood and shes....she's still not waking up!" Who was this that I called? He obviously didn't give a fat rats ass about Kiara. Anger welled inside of me to hear him act like I'd disturbed him or something. He sounded arrogant. I thought about hanging up and calling the next person, but...I had to try. What if he WAS the only one who could help.
"I don't know what to do!" Tears brimmed my eyes again as I looked at her on my lap.

"Pull the fangs back, little vamp. You woke me. I was a bit abrupt. Follow the GPS on her phone. Get her here as soon as you can. East doorway. It will be open and waiting for you. Lay her in the medical bed when you arrive. I should be back by the time you get here."

~Quinn hits the shutoff for the speaker and heads to his storage lockers in the back of the house~

I listened to what he said then heard the click. Seriously? He wanted me to bring her to him. Wow, what a guy. I looked up the GPS he spoke about and sighed. I leaned down and heard her heart beat. .......bump........bump.......bump..............bump. She was breathing, but very shallow. I slowly moved her head and stood, gently taking her body into my arms. Thank goodness for vampire strength. She was easy to carry, but the smell of the blood all over her, made me kinda hungry. The will to drink was overpowered by the will to be a good friend. After all she did for me, and for Bill I had to save her.


Within the next 20 minutes I pulled into a drive that led to a house. I looked over at Kiara slumped in the seat and wondered why the hell my blood wasn't working on her. She was a were, but it should have worked. I hit the steering wheel and let out a frustrated growl. She wasn't dead yet...and she wouldn't die I wouldn't let her. We were in this together. I saw a large figure in my headlights and turned the ignition off. Even with my vampire vision, he was too much in the dark....but he was really....really...tall.

"Small talk later, vampgirl. Get her inside."

~Quinn strode in and began to unroll a leather sleeve with vials and an injection gun in it. Laying it out on the side table, he moved over to wash up and waited for the vampgirl to bring in Kiara~

I heard the shadow say to get her inside. His rough voice and large size made me not want to argue. I was a vampire I could probably take him, but right now Kiara came first. I rolled my eyes as he turned and walked in. Couldn't even get her out the car himself....god who was this man! I went around and gently picked Kiara up and closed the door with my foot. I used my speed to rush inside and noticed the tools on the table. My eyes drifted up slowly to the man standing there looking down at the sleeve. "Woah..." Was all I could say. I nearly dropped Kiara. I stared at him as I gently laid her on the medical type bed.

~nodding as the vampgirl brought Kiara in and lowered her onto the bed. Quinn walked over, seeing her condition, and reaches down, ripping away the clothing half-draped over her torso. Reach to a side shelf, he grabs a large bottle of saline and pours it over Kiara, rinsing off the dry and drying blood so he can see what he is working with.~

"How the hell did you let this happen, Kitten"

~sighing, he moved to the vials and dropped two vials into the needle gun. One was a golden liquid and one looked to be blood. He turned back and before the vamp could stop him, pressed the needle gun over kiara's heart and injected the vials~

"Step back, girl. This could get interesting"

~Quinn stepped back out of reach and waited~

There was a silent, heavy pause before Kiara suddenly rose from the table like some B grade horror film

"SON OF A BITCH!" she screamed, her eyes wide open, her heart beating hard, her breathing erratic like she'd been drowning. She looked around, looking ready to bite the head of anyone before her eyes dilated back and focused. She first focused on Jessica and her mind put 2 and 2 as to why Jessica would be there, but the moment her eyes settled on HIM she groaned like a spoiled 2 yr old.

"Please gods let this be a bad dream from V" she said, pinching herself and feeling the sharp sting of pain.

"Fuck..." she muttered two seconds before she seemed to sway where she sat, and fell back down on the bed, feeling light headed and a bit drunk. Her senses were reeling, she could smell blood, vampire blood and all sorts of things on and around her. Her eyes spun around and her head rolled from side to side like she was fighting a headache.

"ugh..." she muttered before she vomited ALL over Quinn's shoes, spewing out most of the blood Jess had given her, as well as the contents of her dinner from a few hours ago.

I perked up a bit to see her chest rise and fall faster and faster. I ignored the fact that she was topless and watched as she rose like she was in a trance or the bride of frankenstein. I looked to the guy (John) and back to her. She called him a son of a bitch, that couldn't be good...uh oh...I shouldn't have called him. She seemed to be drugged or something and then I saw the facial expression. "Kia---" {Vomit sounds} "Gross...." I watched as she spewed on his side of the bed and by his reaction...he wasn't happy. Silently I fought back a laugh.

~flashing a martyr smile, Quinn stepped back and over to a side room the change. When he came back in, he was dressed as was his norm, having dumped the sweats and such for something more refined. ~

"Now that that is a bit calmer, please grab her a bottle of water from the cooler behind you. She is going to be a bit dry mouthed when that fae blood wears off"

~Quinn moved over to a speaker panel and spoke to someone on the other end about a hazmat cleanup. He them moved back over to where his guests we

Kiara groaned and draped an arm over her chest only to find her chest completely naked.

"Why am I not surprised?.... ofcourse you'd be the one to tear my clothes off Quinn" she said with distaste as Jessica handed her some water. Gods dying sucked, she was in such a peaceful place before but NO heaven forbid she ever find peace. Instead she wakes up to a distraught vampire and her ex standing over her like a wanna nurse.

She sat up and drank the whole bottle of water, glad for the relief of her dry throat. She let her hand trace down her neck, recalling how Bill had savagely torn out her throat. She shook her head. She should have known better. She never has nightmares without a meaning and this was no different. She turned around and looked at Quinn then at Jessica.

"thanks Jess... but next time.. never bring me around this man again...I rather have my throat torn twice than be around him" she said with a growl in her voice.

I looked from him to her and back again. "Sorry, I just...didn't know who else to call. And what's the deal with you two anyhow?" I swear I felt like I was in an episode of Jerry Springer. Those two arguing like children, low blowing one another. I watched Kiara drink the water, and was so relieved to see she'd be okay. "More importantly....why didn't my blood work on her?!"

"...and what did I inject her with that did? Simple. A blending of Fae blood and Were adrenaline. Very potent combo. Unfortunately it is like hooking up a truck engine to a pinto. It'll get things moving, but she runs a bit rough for a bit..."

~laughs~

"As for who I am, now that we have a moment, let me clarify that issue. I am known as Jonathan Quinn. As to your wondering who I was to her, we were once something....more than we are now. Talking of that would only seek to irritate the patient."

~looks to Kiara~

"Your dander might be up, Kitten, but you are breathing, which is an improvement on how she *motions to Jessica* brought you to me. Your strength will take a few days to come back, but you should be able to walk in about an hour unassisted. Do us both a favor and do not bother trying yet."

~looks to Jesscia~
"If you would not mind, go to the third room down the hall. In the closet you will find some clothing that will fit her nicely, I think"

~points to the tattered rags drenched in blood and vomit and looks to Kiara~

"or would you rather try to wear those again?"

Kiara growled "If I had half a mind I would kill you where you stand Quinn. However at least for once in your miserable life you sought to save me and not condemn me as usual" she said as she ripped off the rest of her ruined clothes, shoving modesty aside for a moment.

She looked at Jess and managed a small smile "lets get some clothes and get the hell out of here... you're probably hungry Jess" she said, figuring she could make a pit stop at the compound and get herself cleaned up while Jess fed.

"I'd say eat Quinn, but he may give you indigestion... I know he makes me sick every time I look at him"

I nodded and began to leave when Kiara stopped me by telling this Quinn guy off. I covered my mouth as I smiled trying not to laugh. Wow...."mmhmm yeah sure." She began to pull at my arm as I smiled at him. I couldn't help it he was.... gorgeous. Sexy...tall....smelled so....strong. So...good. I licked my lips and snapped out of it as she tugged harder. I let out a small giggle. "Uh...Thank you..I'm gonna...yeah...um thanks"

~laughs, tossing a robe to Kiara~

"Still as spirited as ever, eh Kitten? Shower is the first right down the hall."

~looking over to the vampire that brought Kiara, he smirks at her feeding with her eyes~

"Now pretty...what did you say your name was? Maybe we can chat while she cleans up and you can tell me what the hell has been going on..."

~Quinn steps away from the door so they can pass through easier.~

Kiara sighed and took the robe.

"Word to the wise Jessica... it's the full moon, so his blood is stronger.. don't drain him too fast" she said with a wicked grin as she put the robe on and got to her feet. She supported herself with the bed and looked like a fawn trying to walk for the first time.

A bit amusing at first as she stumbled to the wall, but stubborn, or perhaps determined she inched her way out of the room and down the hall despite her legs trembling and being about as effective as wet noodles.

Once in the bathroom she closed the door and fell to the floor, panting like she'd just ran a marathon "Gods I'm weak" she muttered, pulling herself up into the tub and tossing off the robe before turning on the shower.

I watched as Kiara hobbled to the bathroom. I looked back at him and then away. Full moon she said...so he must be a were or something. I looked around the room admiring artwork and random things. He'd asked me my name before so I answered. "Jessica...Jessica Hamby. Nice to meet you John. So...." I didn't know what else really to say, didn't want to sound dumb, but couldn't ignore that huge....pulsing.....vein in his neck.

~noting her change in stance and scent, he motions to the cooler~

"Quite a selection in there, if you are hungry, Ms. Hamby. I entertain a lot so I try to plan ahead...there should be some O+, AB-, and might still be some A+ as well as True Blood Royal in there. With the amount she brought up, you are probably a bit drained yourself. There is a warmer on the counter if you prefer it warm."

~He smiled while watching the vampire decide her next move ~

Kiara sat in the tub, the cool water washing over her form. Her head hurt, not from the earlier fight, but from scattered, bloody images. Once again her heart had betrayed her and she had nothing to show for it.

She shuddered. The moon called to her, the desire to go out and run almost overwhelming. She rubbed her neck, reaching for a wash cloth before a hand darted before her stopping her own hand.

She blinked, her mind sluggish, unable to process whose hand that was. She felt someone behind her, red locks of hair draping down Kiara's shoulders as a voice whispered soothing things in her ear.

She leaned back, tempted to surrender herself to the strange sensation coursing through her body. Her own hands seemed to have a mind of their own, traveling down her chest and stomach, every nerve on her skin felt like it was on fire.

I looked towards the cooler and nodded. "Thanks...I'm used to um....feeding on humans but a uh royal *cough* blood is fine.. thanks." I turned my back to him and widened my eyes thinking 'Really Jessica?' to myself. I turned back to face him and smiled. "Should I just go ahead and get that?" Wow his abs...and his biceps....and and....everything. Oh Dear God.....I had to focus here. It was just his blood calling to me. That's all...yep. I smiled again and stood there standing...looking stupid.

"If you need, I can call for a donor. I just do not have one on hand currently and you are looking a little pale...even for a vampire. Perhaps a snack from the cooler until they can arrive....do you have a preference? male? Female? a certain race? I know some of your kind are selective about their food."
