Do I LOOK LIKE FOOD DUMBASS?!??

We'd been packed earlier, things were slowing down as they always do towards the end of the night, usually less humans and more Vamps, not that I minded a bit, Pam and I have always had a decent friendship, and she's more tolerant of me that any other human. I'd been warming Tru Bloods all evening, sliding them across, each basically what Pam called 'Ass in a Glass'. I had to hand it to those who chose to mainstream, it was a tough road and thought all the better of them.

Every since I'd started working here there was a strict, don't touch Violet and don't Glamour Violet policy in effect, if anyone made me feel to uncomfortable I could call for security if Pam or Eric were not close, since LongShadow's death I'd been fairly comfortable at work.

I'd noticed that we had hired a new head of security, as he stood at his post scanning the crowd, checking people at the door. I'd smiled at him several times, and he always have the same polite nod...

*Watching the crowd scenting if there was going to be any problems. Seeing the platinum blond behind the bar, she seems to manage things. To look at her you would think there is a fragile little hot house flower there. I have watched her she's firm, but fair. She is friendly with the customers without overstepping the bounds. She seems to have this place handled. As far as jobs go this is a cake walk. I am sure it will have its moments.*

'Lovely, just lovely' I thought as I watched a group of three guys walk in, they appeared for all intensive purposes to be frat boys, but their emotions and movements were that of Vamp; I thought them to be fairly young, as they didn't try as most of the customers did to blend in with the crowds. I'd been told that's basically what main steaming was about, surviving and blending in.

They strolled up to the bar, the first two ordering O, the last a Tru Royal. Nodding, the first two O's were done and past across the bar "There you guys." Smiling "$10.50 for you two, and yours is warming up as we speak Sir, we make sure to warm it gently so that it doesn't separate." Grinning so that the punk didn't throw a fit.

"Well I'm really fucking thirsty NOW!" He hissed out at me. Grabbing my wrist and yanking my across the bar, as I'd tried to collect the $20 the other two had left for me.

"Dude I'm telling you right now, You need to let me the fuck go, or you're going to get hurt!"

"What are you going to do human? Nothing, but whet my appetite for more tasteful meal for once!"

Hit bit down hard, not taking any care when he ripped into my wrist. Screaming out in pain "NO, STOP, PAM??? Someone get this guy off me!!" I was starting to get a little light headed..

*Hearing the growling from the young vamp, I was moving towards him when he grabbed the platinum blond he clamped down on her wrist she was screaming for the cool blond female vampire. Reaching over grabbing his jaw squeezing to make him let go of her wrist I growl out,*

There is no feeding on the humans on the premises, with or without their permission. Let go of her wrist or I will break your jaw off, this will make you look slack jawed until it heals.

*The vampire looks at me letting go of her wrist I then grab him by the collar giving his friends a wall eyed look saying,*

Pay up and get out. You my friend you are going to open your wallet and lay all your cash on the bar as a gratuity to this pretty lady and I am going to escort you out of the bar, and this is notice you are not to return unless the sheriff calls for you. Understood? Coming back without the Sheriffs summons means I get to stake your ass out against the wall and wait for the sun to come up watching you fry to a crisp.

*The vampire had a haughty look like he could beat me, but I pull my service revolver placing it against his ribs growling,*

Change your mind, because this is loaded with wooden bullets. They will bring you to your final death.

*I saw the fear in his eyes at this, him pulling out his wallet laying a stack of cash on the bar. Stuffing the wallet into his pocket I drag him out of the bar with his 2 friends following looking around to see if the blond is okay.*

Before Pam had even been close enough to hear me, since I hadn't known where she was in the bar, the handsome quiet bouncer had the vamps jaw in his hand, and had been able to force enough pressure to break his hold on my wrist.

I'd sat there dazed on the floor with a bar towel pressed down over my wrist to stop the bleeding and heard every wonderful thing he'd said. I'd peeked up over the counter as I heard him say to empty his wallet for my troubles.

Lifting the towel, it looked as though the wound would heal, but I would still need some stitches, unless Pam gave me a little of her blood. I always hated to ask for such things, but it did happen at work, so I don't think she'd mind too much. Just needed to find and ask her for the help. We'd be closing in about 20 minutes anyways.

*Walking back into the bar after helping the gentleman into his car after he hit his head repeatedly on the roof of his car. A human would need to a trip to the ER but I am sure he will be fine, he will think before doing anything else. I know I was lenient on him, the vampires would have spilled blood because of one their protected lost blood. I have spilled enough blood I want a calm quiet life. Walking over to check on the Blond, squatting next to her she's looking at her wrist the bleeding had stopped but there are huge puncture marks. They will heal slowly if she was left to her own devices. I hope one of the vampires heals her, it would be a shame that her beautiful skin would be marred as such.*

You need to ask one of the vampires to heal you. A finger stick of blood should heal it. I know I didn't introduce myself I am Daniel, head of security. I hope you do not hold this against me I was slow to get to you. This will never happen again on my watch.

"Daniel? It's nice to meet you. My name's Violet, and you weren't slow at all. You were incredible.." trailing off examining my wrist once more "You were able to put enough pressure on him to release without tearing my wrist apart, that isn't easy to do, I take it you must have a little military back ground mixed in there somewhere?"

Lifting the towel once more the marks had clotted and that was my main concern at the moment. I'd find Pam, explain how great our new head of security did to take care of not only me, but business in a quiet, professional manner. I knew she'd heal the marks for me, but he didn't need to know that.

"Don't worry about this type of thing being on your 'watch' it's cool, this kind of stuff doesn't really happen very often, it's usually the baby vamps thinking they can do anything. All the regulars know that I am off limits. NO touching, no glamouring and under no circumstances feeding."

Letting him help me up off the floor to make sure I was steady enough I whispered "Thank you again Daniel, I appreciate that you were looking out for me." Standing on tip toe I gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

*Looking into Violet's eyes after she placed a kiss my cheek. Her eyes shining with gratitude. I have always been held apart from the world, not fitting in, yet not blending in. Her easy acceptance of me is truly a gift. Most see me as a viable weapon. She sees me. Flashing a small smile at the beauty. I will watch over this one, not because it's in my job description, because she is a rare one indeed.*

Not much of a learning curve in my job. But consider yourself safe. Yes I have had training in my past. I am good at what I do. When you finish up I will walk you to your car, I am sure they will not be back, but there's all kinds of danger out there.
