Hoyt had decided to take both Lucas and Elijah out for the morning whilst Amy had a rest, with so many sleepless nights it was a miracle that they were both even functioning. But as their food store was growing short by the day he had taken both of the boys to the store to do a big shop to fill the store. He loved spending time alone with his boys as it was something that he never had much of a chance doing with his own father so he wanted to make sure that he was there for his sons when they grew up.
Heading into the store as he pulled out a shopping cart and placed Elijah and Lucas in the baby seats as he began strolling down the aisles adding things from the shelves into the cart. Remembering to pick up Amy's favourite chips and dips as she had been having cravings of them. He did wonder if she was pregnant again or if it was just the after affect from giving birth to twins. Adding in two packs of beer as he piled on treats for the boys as they seemed to be eating them out of house and home lately. All the money that Hoyt had been saving was slowly starting to disappear which meant he needed to start looking for another job.
"So what shall we get? The red ones or the green ones?" he asked the boys.
But what was the point they were each indicating to both of them.
"We will get both" as he tossed the cream yoghurt treats into his cart as he headed down the cordial section of the aisle putting in a few bottles of Amy's favourite drink Strawberry and limeade as he picked up several boxes of diapers and added them to the cart as he headed down another aisle adding a few more things to his ever growing cart that seemed to be piling up.
"Oh what angels!" he heard a woman squeal.
Turning around as he could see an older woman in about her sixties approach him as he looked on proudly.
"What beautiful boys" she gushed.
"Thank you" he replied back to her.
He watched her pinch their cheeks as the boys giggled in unison as Elijah seemed more interested in something in his hand as the woman stopped in her tracks.
"Dear lord" she stuttered.
Frowning as he turned to Elijah as he could see that his hand was illuminating.
"We have to go now boys" as he unclipped Lucas and Elijah from the cart seats as he cradled them in his arms leaving the full shopping cart in the middle of the aisle. Hurrying from the store as he headed to the car as he nestled them both in their car seats as he hopped into the driving seat and started up the engine as he could see the old woman gazing out of the store window.
Pulling his car out of the car park as he turned onto the road that would take them home as he craned his head over his shoulder.
"Our little secret boys" he smiled hiding the worry as he turned his attention back to the road.
