Just as she was about to turn down the lights her phone rang. She checked the number and smiled. “Hey Glenn…” she began. Glenn had been on a mission to find her a dress she’d once worn when she’d been younger, a dress her mother had made but that she’d lost when Russell had taken her. She smiled brightly when she heard the news “Glenn…I don’t know how you did it… but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank you enough” she said. She chuckled at his comment.
“Actually it just so happens I’m in texas…yeah the Carmilla. Why not have him swing by and drop it off? I want to put it on a soon as possible… the gods know I’ve gotten fat since I was 16…” she said with a chuckle. After a few more minutes she hung up with Glenn, feeling oddly happy now. As she stood to see if she could top off her glass of wine she froze. She lifted her head from the wine bottle. Even though the door between the lounge and bedroom was semi open she could hear everything. She could smell something different. Someone….no a group of someones was in the lounge, and they didn’t smell like Bill.
She remained calm, still pouring her wine, the sound drowning out her own movement. As she set her full glass of wine down all hell broke loose. Vampires crashed into her bedroom, rushing with daggers, large knives and even guns to kill her. She didn’t bother with the hepV filled dagger and instead went after them with her bare hands. Bill’s blood would do more than connect her to him, it had upped all her strength and her healing abilities.
She pushed them out into the lounge mostly because she didn’t want to mess up all the clothes they had brought. From crashing chairs, to broken glass, knives, daggers, shots, everything came crashing down in a whirlwind of limbs and blood. There were 5 vampires all together, all fairly strong, very blood thirsty and very Texas in their methods of killing. What they hadn’t expected was a wolf who healed faster than them, a wolf who spat out the bullets that riddled her body, who shrugged off deep cuts that marred her skin and came back angrier and deadlier.
The scuffle was brief but bloody. Kiara found herself standing in the lounge where all the seats were broken, so was the TV there, and there were several piles of vampire gore. At least the biggest one was actually 3 vampires merged into one. Even her own blood painted some of the walls. Her clothes were torn and she was back to being hungry. She brought one of the torn cloth napkins to her face and began to wipe the blood from her skin. When she felt clean enough she went to the bedroom. She used the hotel phone to call her contact in the hotel.
“Hey…yeah it’s me… “ she grinned “Oh shove it… I need your top notch cleaning crew up on my suite right now. Yeah… that thing that I warned you about happened” she said as she walked around to the bathroom with the cordless phone and began to draw a warm bath.
“everything dude… and it needs to be done now before the King gets back…” she added as she pulled out from her suitcase some bath salts and her wash cloth. “Exactly… bring as many as you can, and just everyone to fix things. It’s a mess in there.. “ she said as she walked back to the bedroom to find some clothes. “Ok thanks…. Yeah you want me to wait? I don’t have much time I need to get cleaned up too” she added as she put on one of the hotel robes. “ok… get here” she said as she ended the call.
She checked the time. Bill hadn’t been gone too long but she couldn’t bank on any time and if Bill sensed her emotions he’d be rushing to the room already. Thankfully in less that 5 minutes her friend was there along with 4 female vampires. They seemed really young, they reminded her of Jessica, turned before they were 18., but she couldn’t ponder the morality of that for now.
“Come in come in…” she said. Thankfully none of them asked questions and the vampires worked faster than any other crew could. They washed the blood off the walls, vacuumed up all the gore while her friend was the one who packed up all the broken wood and shattered things. She watched them while leaning against the door to the bedroom. She just wanted to make sure no one riffled through their things, ensuring privacy and what not.
In about 10 minutes the vampire girls had everything cleaned up and her contact had already called the maintenance people to bring in new furniture. In the space of 20 minutes all together the room was clean, new furniture was in place, everything looked as how it should have been. Her friend grinned and Kiara sighed in relief. “Thanks… hopefully this saves me another argument” she said. Her friend chuckled. “Just give him a good blowjob… no man can stay angry after a blow job” he said. She laughed. “Perv…” she said as she pulled out her wallet and handed him a thick wad of hundreds.
“Please doing business with you Kiara” he said before he and his crew left. They had even reset the locks on the door. She was given new keys and they’d managed to electronically add Bill’s key so he would never know the lock reset had happened. Once everything was back in place she went back to the bathroom where the giant tub was nice and full of hot water. She took her phone with her, knowing Glenn would call as soon as her dress was getting into the hotel.
In the meantime though she poured the bathsalts into the water, let the aroma of summer flowers and honey fill the room before she sank into the hot water. It felt good and she sighed in relief. She’d find some way to explain her emotions to Bill later, for right now, all she wanted was a few minutes of peace. She washed herself well, even washed her hair to get rid of any blood on it.
She was glad she’d rushed the clean up crew. Bill was still gone and she managed to clean herself up, relax a bit and wait until Glenn called her again. Someone knocked at the door and she was met with a young man who handed her a black dress bag and smiled before leaving. She closed the door and hung the bag on the bedroom door before opening it. She gasped and nearly cried.
She pulled the dress from its hanger and walked into the bedroom to try it on. She treated the dress like it was glass, and she didn't even put on a bra as she slid into it. She hesitated before zipping up the zipper. It still fit her and she felt a pang of sadness and nostalgia. Her mother had made this dress for her. It was supposed to be the dress she'd wear on her 18th birthday. Instead she'd given her virginity away to a fool, been branded a traitor of wolves and began her near four years of torture with Russell.
She spun around after doing the sash correctly and fought back tears. "Look mom... it's perfect" she whispered.
