She noted they were packing travel coffins and much more luggage than she recalled, but she assumed all of that to be Max’s as she had no possessions currently to speak of. They boarded the newer plane which resembled a fully functioning house inside. Thankfully the staff had their own section of the plane and the one meant for the guests could actually be shut off by a door. She made her way inside, letting Max growl orders at the staff as she reached the back of the plane where there was one very large canopy bed surrounded by dark privacy curtains. There was also several recliners even a faux fireplace, a bar, a desk and two large flat screen tv’s as well.
Without real appreciation of it all she hopped into bed. The less she moved about the less energy she expended which would hopefully lower her need to feed so often. Just thinking about food, even if it was vampire blood made her hungry and she truly hated being so dependent on it. She slid under the silk sheets and drew up a few of the curtains, leaving just enough to show Max where she was so he wouldn’t go about making noise. Here in the back the majority of the noise from the plane and people was cut off which was nice. She had always preferred the quiet. She turned over to see that on the nearest wall to the bed was a panel of sorts, like a small tv that had the weather, the current time, some tabs to switch over to news reports and other pertinent information.
The one thing she wanted was a phone. If she was going back to the states she had plans that needed to get into motion. She didn’t expect to depend on Max for much longer. Frankly she still thought of him as an overzealous babysitter. Plus she was fairly certain the only reason he stuck around was in some hope for sex. She looked around, now determined to find a phone. SURELY a plane so well equipped had to have a phone somewhere.
It took some looking around but after pushing a few buttons on the side of the bed a small panel opened up on a night stand to reveal a desk phone of sorts. She picked it up and held it like a lifeline. Now if only she could remember the numbers of people she knew….
‘This is your captain speaking….’ She could hear softly over the intercom. They must be getting ready to take off. Finally her mind settled on a number she hoped wasn’t disconnected. She attempted to dial it a few times, having to do trial and error on international calling standards until finally she reached it…or at least the voicemail which was the same as she recalled it.
“Hey…it’s Kiara. Go to my desk in the warehouse, open the second drawer and find the red number 2 folder. Whatever it says in it you do it. Don’t ask, don’t try to call me. When I can I will call back and explain” she said quickly before ending her message JUST as Max appeared on the other side of the passenger quarters. At least now she felt somewhat better that things would look up, even if she was now stuck as some weird mutant vampire.
