Under the light of the moon

He devoured her like he hadn't had her in weeks. She loved every minute of it. Needless to say, their run had been postponed for another two hours as they made use of the counter tops and tile floor of the hotel suite.

She had taken off ahead of him and shifted into her tiger form, feeling the soil of the earth beneath each thud of her paw. she looked behind her to search for him and heard him in the distance, he'd catch up to her soon and she knew it. Internally grinning, she pushed faster to make it harder for him to catch up.

Quinn grinned as he heard her increase her pace. He watched the direction she went in, setting himself on a parallel path, pacing himself while keeping close enough to track the sounds of her movement. He knew the game, and always enjoyed it. They both needed this time and he did not plan to rush things. He lifted his head and let out a low hunting growl while facing in her direction, then took his speed up a notch. This was going to be fun...

She decreased her pace and became quiet as if hunting prey. She would wait to pounce on him as he came near. Hiding behind a tree, she lowered her head and listened to the sounds of his running. He let out a growl and she lowered herself to the ground to wait.

Hearing some twigs snap behind her, she inhaled hard to take in her surroundings and that's when she smelled it. She stood on all fours quickly and soon felt something wrap it's arms around her neck. She let out a roar and growl, attempting to fight the creature off. It's fangs struck into her neck and she bared her teeth, shaking her body. Trying to bite the vampire to get him off of her was hard because he was positioned where she couldn't get to him.

He was so focused on hunting her that he almost missed the sour scent on the wind. He dropped down and took in his surroundings, noting that Tijgerian had stopped moving as well. He assumed at first that she had caught the scent as well. Then he heard her shout. He shifted position to make a direct line to her and then realized that he was being hunted. There were vampires out here, but they smelled off, even for vampires. His eyes went cold as he realized these creatures could be even more dangerous. As he moved to go to her, three vampires with strange black veins stepped in his path. He growled a warning but they only laughed.

"My friend has already found your prey, kitty. You are mine."

Quinn felt his body tense as he heard the vampire talk. It's voice was wrong...garbled somehow. It was sick in some way. He knew he had to get to Tijgerian as soon as he could. He leaped for the vampire, but felt an impact on his side as a second vampire crashed into him, knocking him off target. He grabbed the second vampire in his claws, ripping it's head free before turning to face the first one again. He growled a low warning as he glared at the creature.

She roared out again and flung her body to the ground, crushing the vampire beneath her. It had a foul odor, more potent than usual. She quickly moved to pin the creature down with her paws, showing her canines before sinking them into the side of its neck and ripping it from its body. She spat it out and made sure she didn't swallow any of the vile blood.

She felt weakened and knew it must be from her own blood loss. Hearing the growl and struggle in the distance, she attempted to run towards it when she shifted back to human. She dropped to her knees and her eyes glowed, feeling the weakness from the gaping hole in her neck and shoulder. She growled and forced herself to shift back to tiger and took off running towards the sounds.

Quinn backed up, keeping the other two vampires in view as he put his back to an ancient tree. He caught the scent of her blood and his eyes went cold. His mind returned to the Games from his youth an these two vampires would simply be fodder for the beast. He leaped into the air, anticipating the attack from the side, turning and slashing his claws though the throat of the airborne vampire before landing a few feet from the remaining victim. He glared at the vampire as the stench filled his nose. He braced himself and watched the last vampire, waiting for it to move first.

She watched from the shadows, waiting for the right nomen to strike. The vampire held it's hand to his slashed neck, blood flying out into the night as it garbled and attempted to heal. But it didn't. That was even more odd.

Her eyes scanned the scene before her. The stumbling vampire made a last stitch effort and bared fangs towards John. She growled and leapt from the shadows, grabbing it by the head and ripping it from it's body. She dropped the head and landed gracefully, her shoulder throbbing in pain and finding it hard to focus on her shift. As she landed on the balls of her feet she realized she was human again and bleeding out. The vampire smelled it and let out a feral hungry growl, locking eyes with her and taking his eyes from John.

Quinn saw the distraction and used it. He shifted to human form, grabbing the vampire and throwing it into a broken branch, watching it splatter as the branch pierced the vampire's chest. He turned to find the wounded vampire and then saw Tijgerian. He dropped to a crouch, still in battle mindset but then realized she was wounded. He moved to her, checking her wounds.

"What the hell is wrong around here? Those fangers were strange..."

She hissed as she touched the gaping hole in her shoulder. Looking up as John slammed the vampire into the wooden branch sticking out, she turned her head as it exploded. Hearing him approach, she clenched her jaw and put on her strong front. "Vampires being monsters, as usual."

She growled and touched the wound again. "I'm fine. I'll heal by morning." She went to stand and slowly got back to her knees. She felt so weak and drained.

Quinn climbed the tree he had used to kill the vampire and scouted the area before coming back down.

"There aren't any more nearby but this place stinks of them. We should move on. Don't argue, you can yell at me later for this..."

He scooped her into his arms and turned, moving at a quick walk back to where they had stashed their things.

She wasn't feeling right and top that with frustration that he was carrying her. She could walk! Allowing him the short distance to their things, she struggled to get free of his arms. She landed on her feet and wobbled a bit. "John..." She didn't finish the sentence before she heaved and felt dizzy. The surroundings were spinning like some bad acid trip. She could almost feel the vampire blood mixed with her own, crawling through her veins like
Maggots. It pissed her off and made her sick.

Her eyes fluttered a bit and one last word escaped her lips. "Rajat..." Next was darkness.
