Today was the day...The day to say goodbye.

William had received a note from one of Pam's friends that the vigil had been changed until after sunset due to another protest that was happening in her name against what she believed in. The sun was setting soon, it seemed that today was flying by so fast, that he couldn't believe that it was happening. William's mood was already soured after his fight with James, today was the day that he was meant to be visiting the set of Stargate and meeting the cast, but that was the last thing on his mind, he couldn't bear the thought of that when all he had in his mind was Pam.

William was stood by a large pillar in the courtyard, a warming breeze swirled around him, he could do this. He watched as mourners gathered together to talk about the good times they had spent with Pam, he had no such memories to share, just the few moments that they had spent together in her dorm, her lingering lips on his. He wished countless times that he been with her, had called her sooner. But it was all things he wished that he had done, it had his gut wrenching that he could have been there to save her. The crowd had gathered around, the sun had now just settled beyond a ray of clouds.

    It was Time.

William took a few steps closer toward the crowd, standing next to a group of girls who all held candles, one turned to him and handed him an un-lit candle and used her own to light his. He nodded silently to her in thanks as the a sea of candles lit around him.

He took a gasp of breath, there was so many people here, scanning the crowds he saw some of his professors had attended as well, she had touched so many people's heart, and a moment with her, she had touched his. He saw a young man take to the stage and switch on a microphone, clearing his throat.

"Pamela Swynford De Beaufort was someone special. She achieved so much. She always wanted to make the world a better place, and she has. She has made us all want to make the world a better place. Through her spirit and her courage we will make the world a better place. And now we will hear a song dedicated to Pamela from one of her friends Amy Burton. William continued to watch on in silence as a girl he did not know took to the stage, a soft melodic tune started to play as she stepped forward to the microphone.

William felt himself begin to choke up, he had never seen so many people cry over such a song, a song that held so much meaning, he could feel himself start to tear up, fighting against his tears he tried to control himself, but lost the battle.

He would never get the chance to know Pam, to know who she was. All he had was his memories, memories that would keep her alive. Always.
