    Saying Goodbye.... Empty Saying Goodbye....

Post by Sookie Stackhouse Sat Jan 26, 2013 7:09 pm

She didn't know how long she had been laying on the bed with her hands over her ears, eyes scrunched shut and humming to herself. It had been at least 12 hours; she had gotten home from work and bolted straight to her room. She had seen the roses, wine and chocolates adorning the kitchen, but she had been so frazzled she hadn't even had the energy to enjoy it. She had just wanted to go straight to bed and not think, or hear, anything else other than her own voice.

Debbie and Rene had been relentless; day and night, every hour nagging in her ear about how she had killed them before their time, how she had overreacted. They hadn't really meant to hurt her; they were just trying to get her attention was all! She scoffed as she peeked out from beneath her eyelids; she didn't see anyone. It was.... silent.

She didn't know how she had done it. She had been at work, trying to focus on her orders while drowning out all of the thoughts and they had just... vanished. She hadn't done anything other than just ignore them; she hadn't said a single word, acknowledged anything they said or did. She just.... ignored it.

Her Gran would have been proud, the fact that she could finally block things out and pretend it wasn't even there. She could still feel... something. She wasn't sure what it was, something just on the edge of being noticeable. But at least they weren't driving her nuts anymore.

She groaned and sat up from the bed, rubbing her eyes and looking around, waiting to have to deal with them again. But they were gone... She heard nothing. Blissfully silent. She stretched her arms over her head and grinned as she slipped out of the bed and made her way to the stairs.

She had gifts to enjoy; a glass of wine, some chocolates as she inhaled the rose scented air. And maybe, if she was lucky, her Viking would show up and make everything all the more better.
