Jason Stackhouse tapped along to the tune that played in his head, Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley. He had heard someone in the cell next to him humming along to the song and then it became stuck in his head. A tune looping over and over and over in his head. He had tried to think about something else, but nothing worked.
He sank further against the wall, sitting on the the top bed of the bunk beds that were in his cell that he was sharing with another prisoner, in for killing his boyfriends, boyfriends or something like that. How could this be happening too him? He was a good man, a good christian. Sure be behaved badly in the past, but didn't everybody? He was an innocent man. Maybe, possibly. Maybe not.
He couldn't get the faces of Dawn Green and Maudette Pickens out of his mind, it was like they were burned into his head.
He still couldn't believe that he was here, trapped in a cell with Raoul, his gay cellmate;
Why did this have to be happening to him? He had tried calling Sookie, but she refused to talk to him, even when he tried calling Merlotte's, Sam always said that she busy and didn't need this hassle right now and that she would call him back. But she never did.
As he sat in his cell, Raoul talking about how much he missed his boyfriend and wished that he hadn't killed him, he couldn't help but wonder what would happen to him?
He then heard someone approach his cell, Carl the guard who Jason had talked to about football, and a list of other things, but Jason knew why he was here. It was time.
"Come on Stackhouse, your attorney is waiting for you" he smirked as unlocked the cell door.
Without a word spoken, and a thin beading of sweat forming across his brow, it was time for his court hearing.
It was time to find out his verdict - Guilty or Not Guilty.
