Road Trip

Watching Tara pace back and forth, waiting for the Anubis car to come, Nora tried to hide the smirk on her face, “Tara, you are going to run out of anger before you get to Oklahoma at this rate! Yes, it is possible for even you to run out. You need to learn to push that down and use it when you need it most. Now sit down and wait. There is nothing that you can do until you get there.”

Nora wondered if Tara was anxious about going to Oklahoma alone. As tough as she was, she was still a baby vampire going out against adversaries that were at least strong enough to have taken Pam, a vampire 100 years older than Tara.

“Look, I am not happy with being left behind but Eric said to stay in Louisiana. So, I am going to travel with you as far as the border. After that, you will have to rely on your own devices.”

*Tara glared at Nora for a moment, she knew it wasn't
the elder vampire's fault, but clearly she didn't know
as much about her, as she thought Nora did, with a ta of
a smirk, Tara said.*

"Oh you don't know me very well, I'm always angry, I
just need a focal point, and trust me there ain't no
way I'm going to run out of anger...if it was Eric...
could you? Speaking of which I am glad and all that
I am going after Pam, but what in the fuck is his
Viking ass doing, while I am going all faster pussycat
kill, kill."

*Tara said lighting up yet, another cigarette.*

Nora shook her head, "One of the main lessons that Godric taught Eric and I was to master our emotions, to control and use them to our advantage and against our enemies. This is something that you will come to learn in time." Nora remembered well the impulses and heightened emotions of being a newly turned vampire; but not learning to reign those emotions and impulses in was one of the main things that got baby vampires killed.

"I know that it is difficult when you can feel your maker's pain. Godric and I felt each other's pain and agony many times. But, if you don't learn to harness that anger and pain you will end up meeting the True Death, like many baby vampires have before you. I don't want that to happen to you and I sure as hell know that Pam doesn't."

"I have no idea what Eric is doing at the moment but, I do know that he would never gamble with Pam's life. If he wants you to handle this situation, I'm sure that he has his reasons."

Truth be told, Nora could not think of much that would keep Eric from saving Pam.

Deciding to change the subject, before Tara's anger became even more roused, Nora asked casually, "Tell me Tara, do you have a plan? I hope it is more than just break in and kill everyone that stands in your way. These vampires, or whomever has Pam, are far older than you and more experienced. You will need to come up with something better than brute force, you must be smarter than your enemy."

*Tara smiled, after watching all those stupid
ass Angel t.v. shows she sure did, those re-runs
were on nightly, and after working a long shift,
she had to say watching David Boreanaz, beat on
some bad guys with fangs, was just mighty fine
for her....sometimes Sookie and her would gather
together and watch it, with some popcorn...ahh
those were the days.*

"No....I didn't plan on killing all of them,
there's no fucking way I could manage that,
it'd be suicide, like going into the Authority
all by myself, and I'm angry, not crazy...I am
not trying to kill them all even...just the
ones who touched my Maker, and I plan on doing
this considering before I was made a vampire,
I was a cage fighter....cage fighting isn't
much more different then killing vampires,
see in cage fighting you look for your opponents
weakness, and exploit it, to your advantage,
so, I behead or use wooden bullets to these
opponents, and God I hope at least some are
human, I am going to so enjoy that...."

*Tara said opening up her leather jacket,
which she lined with stakes, behind her
back she had a wicked looking blade, she
made sure to put on black, leather gloves.*

"The blade...the whole thing is silver...
funky little house...it has all kinds of
little nifty things in it."

*Tara said with a smirk.*

Nora raised a brow, impressed that Tara had made use of the time that she had spent speeding all over the safe house, bitching about Pam and what had happened to her the entire time.

Looking out the heavy red curtains, Nora saw a pair of headlights heading up the driveway. Turning to Tara, she nodded slightly "Good because the car is here and I am certain that you do not wish to waste any time in leaving."

Nora had also learned a few of the weapon hiding places. Her weapons were not all lethal though, she had grabbed stakes and also a few syringes of liquid silver, in case they found someone they could use as leverage on their way.

Walking outside and looking up at the starry night sky, Nora climbed into the back of the waiting car once she had verified the driver's identity.

*Tara glanced at the car once over...it wasn't like she
would know if anything was out of place even if it was,
it wasn't like he traveled much to begin with, much
less as a vampire, so she wouldn't even be able to see
a difference in a dummy car or the called Anubis
car, she frowned, and took the large, silver claymore,
from behind her, the blade was large, and slightly
curved at the end, and extremely heavy, it looked like
something Eric may have once used in battle if it
weren't for the smoothness that the silver had, it
was easily made recently, not that I mattered, Tara
enjoyed touching the smoothness of the object, she
kept it in her leather clad hands, even as the car
stopped un-expectedly.*

"What the fuck is going on....we picking someone up,
or something, you didn't mention?"

*Tara asked, the blade still in her hands, firmly.*

Looking at Tara, Nora shook her head, "No, we aren't picking anyone up. Anubis will typically send only one car but I suppose Eric had them send a second as a decoy; he is in full on overprotective mode at the moment. I could tell you stories from when I was a baby vampire!" She rolled her eyes slightly at the memories of the arguments that they would get in over that particular subject.

Before she could elaborate further Nora leaned forward in her seat slightly, peering out of the front windshield. The driver had not gotten into his seat yet, a fact that Nora found unusual. Motioning for Tara to keep alert, Nora tried to listen for a sign of anything amiss.

"Oh hell, the fuck, no!"

*Tara says hearing the sudden snap, which
it all to familiar to her, it's the satisfying
snap of someone's neck.*

"Still think it's play time, Captain Brittan?"

*Tara asks, shaking her head, and opening up, the
car door, she pushed forward out of the car, with
the large, silver claymore pushed in front of her,
ready to take anything that moved out.*

"Put your nickers up, looks like a shit storm, heading
our way."

*Tara said, sizing up the vampires the
circled the car.*

Scoffing as Tara left the car, Nora rolled her eyes and opened her own door. Grabbing one of the stakes that she carried in her back holster, Nora growled at the intruders.

"You have made a grave mistake in trying to attack us! Get ready to meet the True Death!"

The tallest vampire, who was about Eric's size, laughed.

"You're the only ones that will be dying tonight you little Authority bitch! This will be almost too easy; but, not to worry, we will make sure your deaths will be slow and very painful."

He motioned to the five others with him as smirked with satisfaction as they began to close in on Tara and Nora.

"Now I know you're Ma ma ain't raised you to
talk to a lady like that....
then again, the way you're hunched,
over like that, maybe she did, after all you
look like the missing, fucking link."

*She looked over at Nora and smiled at the one
who called her, an Authority bitch*

"And you just shut your mouth, only I get to
make fun of my friends, but I'm glad at least
you fools said something....I was getting kinda
bored...this is for my Maker, ass hole."

*Tara said chopping one's head clean off.*

Smiling as the blood and entrails of the vampire that Tara beheaded fell to the ground, splattering all over the cement, Nora looked up at the ring leader.

"What were you saying about it being too easy?"

Throwing the stake that she held in her hand, Nora smirked as it landed square in the heart of another of their attackers. Lifting herself off of the ground, Nora felt a silver chain wrap around her throat and she was pulled back to the ground. Hissing as her skin sizzled and smoked, Nora fought against the vampire desperately trying to free herself as she was being dragged off.

"Well, well little vamp."

*One of them said, as the other circled her,
Tara had her sword high, above her head in a
tactical position she had seen in some old
fashion kung fu movie, she heard a hiss sound
and turned her attention to the other vampire,
which held Nora, shaking her head, she ignored
those idiots who couldn't decide who to attack
her first, and instead yelled, to Nora.*

"DUCK!"

*She waited till her friends head moved
every so slightly, and drove the claymore
directly through the vampire's head who held
the silver chain, to Nora.*

"I am on mother-fucking fire."

*Tara said.*

"Hey Brittan catch."

*Tara said, tossing Nora a small gun,
with wooden bullets.*

Hearing Tara yell for her to duck, Nora managed to move her head just enough for Tara to decapitate her captor. Feeling blood fall all over her back Nora jerked the chain off of her throat, ignoring the pain as the silver chain seared into her skin.

Catching the gun that Tara threw Nora shot one more of their attackers, knowing Tara would make short work of the last remaining one, before turning her attentions on the leader.

"Well, well, it looks as if your plan, like so many others before, has gone awry. As, I said before, prepare to meet the True Death."

Squeezing the trigger, she smiled as the wooden bullet flew into the heart of the leader and his body broke apart, leaving nothing more than a red pile of blood and entrails on the ground.

Turning to Tara, Nora smirked "Well, it appears that you will do much better than I expected in Oklahoma. Perhaps you will even last as long as an hour!"

She smirked, knowing that her words would infuriate Tara even more.

"You did well, reacting so quickly."

Nora was not very good at saying thank you. This was the best that she could muster.

*Tara easily took care of the last vampire,
and smiled, and then she did something
she had not done in a very long time...
since she was human, she looked at Nora, and
before the vampire had a chance to react, she
hugged her, like she use to Sookie after
she'd been bullied at school.*

"Your welcome."

*Tara said putting the claymore behind her,
in the huge sword's sheath.*

"Are we done now...I mean, I have to
save my Maker."

The only person left alive that Nora was used to showing any affection to was Eric. Eyes widening slightly, Nora looked startled when Tara wrapped her arms around her. After a moment, she wrapped her arms around Tara and actually hugged her back. Pulling back she looked at the baby vampire, a look of grave seriousness on her face.

"Since, it seems, this place has been compromised, I think you should drive to Oklahoma and I will stay here. Obviously, someone knows that we're here and more will most likely come. If they do, I will be waiting for them!"

She chuckled slightly at the thought of what she would do to anyone that would dare try to harm her or take from her family.

"Take care of yourself Tara and get Pam out of whatever trouble she's in. It would be too quiet without her constant nagging and I would not care for my life to get dull."

*Tara nodded, and said to Nora*

"Keep the gun....I am liking this blade...
I have no clue what the hell it is...but
it's damn nifty...there's more ammo in a
large trunk, in the not-so-safe house,
with a few towels over it, do me a
favor...don't die."

*Tara said taking the wheel of the car,
she would have to find a way to get where
she needed to be, she could feel Pam's
fire growing dimmer....and nearly feeling
numb.....she wished as she whispered her
Maker's name, that Pam could hear her.*

"I'm on my way.....please don't give up."

*Tara said driving on, forward.*
