As they left the room, he relaxed a bit. Interacting with Compton always put him a bit on edge. He let his relief show in his body language, hoping to get the woman on his arm to lower her guard a little. He led her down  the east hallway to the barracks and opened the door for her.

"While we do not have too much need for general donors, we do keep a selection on hand. Of course the standard basic options, and we have a few exotics available as well, for those with more refined palates. Do you have a preference? Male, female? A certain race or body type?"

Roxanne let Quinn lead her to another room as her nails drummed along his arm in rhythm as she gave him a quick glance his way. Hearing him talk of various donors that he had or could get her hands on as he asked for her preference.

"Something male...The strong and silent type" she told him.

"I have just the one in mind. He is one of our exotics. Born mute. He has focused his life on improving his physique since body language is his only dialect."

He led her down to one of the doors and pressed a bar on the door. A chime went off and a soft blue light could be seen under the edge of the door. Shortly, the young donor stepped from the room, still pulling on his shirt, looking from Quinn to the vampire on his arm.



"Will this one fit your tastes?"

Roxanne appraised the young mute man that stood before her as he pulled on his shirt as she dropped her arm from Quinn's. Making a show as she swayed her hips slowly as she made her way over to the donor.

"Strong...silent type" as she let her finger caress over the his shoulder "Not what I was expecting...Something maybe a little closer to home" she suggested.

Turning her back from the donor as she stood in front of Quinn.

"How about we skip the chit chat and get right down to business Mr Quinn?"

Quinn motioned for the donor to return to his rooms and turned to Roxanne.

"A rather aggressive approach for a guest in my home to take, but I'll play. What business is it you wish to discuss? Tired of your new job already and looking to trade up?"

He smirked at her.

"Tired? Bored? Sick of Compton? Choose whichever one you wish. But I am looking for something a little more entertaining" she grinned.

Waiting until the donor had returned to where he had come from she turned her full attention back to the Tiger.

"The King has his promises to a were who is not my particular flavour...I have my eyes set on another. Someone who can show a girl a good time" she whispered as she took a step closer to him.

Her hand drifting to rest on his chest.

"A girl has needs Mr Quinn" she grinned.

Quinn laughed.

"Very direct. Quite refreshing from the duplicity you see so much in some vampires. I know of the King's were and as I see it, to each their own tastes. My own tend to go in other directions."

He felt her hand against his chest and smiled down at her.

"I do have a rule against seducing my guests on their first visit, Roxanne. Shall we continue with the tour? Or would you like to discuss more job opportunities?"

He could not shake the fact that he recognized her somehow. He looked her in the face, smiling. Maybe he could play this to get a few answers of his own.

"You remind me of someone I knew once...a good while back. You could almost be her twin."

"Well perhaps we could change that rule of yours? Or do you prefer something a little closer to home? The King's progeny for example? I can see the way that she looks at you, and the way that you look at her" she taunted.

Roxanne chuckled at his last remark, she knew him very well. Walking around him as she held her stance close to him.

"Oh I do believe that we may have encountered each other...Something that we both share a mutual interest....Texas perhaps" she whispered.

Her mention of Brianna made him smile.

"She is very sweet, and has become a part of the family. I can understand an outsider misreading the look but it is of no concern."

When she mentioned Texas, his mind ran up a flag, but he did not let it show on his face. Isabel. It had to be, but he needed to be certain.

"Texas was a long time ago. We knew each other there? Or perhaps had a mutual friend who introduced us? The years are not so kind to the memories of non-vampires. Time tends to fade the details."

"Oh I shall keep your secret John...I am not one for telling. I can keep secrets" she lied.

Walking around him so that she was now facing him directly rolling her eyes at his last remark about Texas.

"I was told you do not do coy John....But I have heard other tales. Tales of the Tiger between the sheets. I am a little sad that I will not get to test them for myself....A little envious that Isabel had her fun with you...Tsk tsk, what would she say when she learns of your deceit? The King's progeny's alive and well. Sharing your home with the youngest" she smirked.

Quinn smiled. He knew it. Now, just to put all the ducks in a row.

"Isabel's plan was flawed and you know it. Ob top of that, her goon and his hit squad tried to attack me and my 'daughter'. They earned their deaths. As to Compton, his progeny dying while he was gone would hurt, but them dying while he is so close will be even more painful. I have one under my roof already, and if all goes as planned, the other will be coming to visit her 'sister' soon enough. Once I have them both in one place..."

He flashed a wicked grin.

"..accidents can happen. Such a shame when someone leaves liquid silver rounds in a gun that got left out. If someone is cleaning it and it goes off...such a pity."

He moved toward her and ran a firm hand across her cheek.

"There is too much in motion for such games now, but I am not against the idea of putting the rumors to the test when the time is right, Roxanne. The question is, though, what would I be gaining out of this?"

Her lips parted when she felt his hand on her cheek.

"When the time is right? Oh the time is always right John. The rumours must just be rumours, unless Isabel placed you high on a pedestal when you did not belong my sweetness" she whispered.

She placed her hand on his chest again as she let it glide down to the base of his firm stomach.

"The question is, though, what would I be gaining out of this?"

"Gaining? Oh my dear John. Your life. You know Isabel as well as I do. She always has her ways of getting what she wants. Her informant knows the Compton line well...You may be able to lie to Isabel, but I am not as stupid as you may think I am" she whispered.

Leaning in close to him so that she could fully smell him.

"I can smell her all over you...Such intoxication" she whispered.

Quinn laughed.

"As for the timing, if I know Compton as well as I do, he is already itching to leave. As for what you smell, I never said I had not bedded her. I simply said that she is like part of the family...for now. Imagine her delight in the fact that I deflowered his young progeny before killing her. I've already had the other one as well. Isabel will find that almost as delicious as she finds other little things I have done for...and to...her."

He paused for a moment and smiled again.

"as for gaining my life, she has already sent her best and their champion's hammer rests on my wall."

"Oh my dear John...Isabel will be please once I let her in on your little secret...But do not think for once that you have me fooled. I know of your reputation for fine women, Isabel delights in the stories. But you will never be able to satisfy her the way that I can...even with your extra talent" she grinned indicating to his groin area.

Leaning forward as she placed a soft kiss on his lips and pulled back. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small white card.

"Call me when you want a real challenge...I would like to test those theories about the infamous Tiger" she grinned.

As she began to pull back, he took her chin in his fingertips.

"...and if you want to earn a chance to test those theories, you will wait a bit for me to finish what I started before telling her about all this. I deceived her only to keep her stooges from screwing everything up. I have the trusting fool coming here without an escort, he trusts me so much now. He will never expect me to be the most dangerous weapon at Isabel's call."

He kissed her deeply, nipping at her lip. Then he pulled back smiling.

"A little something to stir the pot, so to speak. Imagine her pleasure when you reveal my game as well as reporting the fact of the progeny both being dead. I'll even arrange it so you can witness both of the deaths so there is no question this time."

His phone buzzed. He spoke on it a moment and chuckled.

"You are being summoned by your king, Roxanne. He is ready to go and wants to take you with him. Too bad you aren't interested in him. That could make things more entertaining."

Her arms wrapped around his neck when he kissed her deeply as she glared at him for stopping what he had started.

"Very well...I shall wait. But this wait better be worth my while. I intend to have some fun here whilst I can" she whispered.

"Too bad you aren't interested in him. That could make things more entertaining."

Roxanne chuckled at his remark.

"Oh I am not interested in the King...My tastes are more refined than the cast off King....But I have a job to do. The King will be eating out of the palm of my hand by this evening...or other places that he can find. But I shall look forward to our next encounter Mr Quinn...You better be ready for me" she instructed.

Quinn chuckled and watched her turn, following her toward the main rooms.

"Oh I will be. I'll make sure to eat a good meal and get some rest before then."

He moved up next to her and offered her his arm again.

Speaking softly he said, "Appearances..."
