Confrontation

Quinn stood at the gates, waiting for the guard to get off the phone so he could go inside. This was taking longer than normal, and why were there so many extra guards? A few more had come out when he arrived.

"Look...just tell Compton that I have the package he has been looking for and I am just trying to deliver it."

Kiara had just stepped out of the shower after her workout. There was commotion downstairs as some guards were talking among themselves.

Clad in jeans and a simple black t-shirt and barefoot she made her way downstairs.

"What is going on?" she asked, the mansion not used to so much noise.

"Miss Griffen, Mr. Quinn is here with the delivery of Roxanne and the King is still busy" said one of the guards.

Great, just what they needed, Quinn to come and mess things up.

"Keep the guards on stand-by, I'll deal with Quinn" she said as she walked over to the front door and stood there with the large doors closed behind her.

"Let him through the gates but stop all movement before the main doors, everyone on guard"

He glared at the guards when they told him to wait. 'Someone' was coming to meet with him before the box was allowed inside. That meant Bill was delegating. Quinn rolled his eyes and sighed. I bring the man exactly what he asks for and he doesn't even have the decency to collect it himself? So much for gratitude. He climbed back in the driver's seat and pulled up to where they designated and waited. He was a bit surprised when Kiara walked out of the mansion and headed in his direction. He tried to put on his most pleasant smile.

"Hello Kiara, help you with something?"

Kiara rolled her eyes.

"Cut the crap Quinn. I know you have Roxanne with you, so deliver the box and be on your way. Bill has neither time or patience for you tonight" she said with her arms crossed.

The guards were already surrounding Quinn's car, searching it top and bottom for electronic bugs.

Quinn found her tone amusing so decided to play with her a little.

"Yes, I have an order of Rox-in-the-box for King Compton and I told him I would deliver it to Him. If you would be so kind as to go get him, we can conclude things and your guards can go back to playing video games in the guard shack."

She shook her head.

"Not going to happen Quinn. Like I said, he is busy and can't drop everything he's doing just to satisfy you. At least pay him some respect in trusting his own fiance to deliver the prisoner"

There was a pause as she listened through an earbud and sighed even more.

"Brianna is a moron" she muttered under her breath

Quinn smiled.

"You have a point, Kiara. Out of courtesy and respect, I will release the box into your care. You will find the key to each lock taped to the back of the locks. She will probably need some blood soon if you want to keep her long. We kind of took a bumpy route here and she was already in less than perfect shape."

He climbed out, standing with his arms out while the guards searched him again, laughing. He then walked to the back of the van, unlocking the doors and pulling the box out. It hit the ground with a loud thud and he smiled.

"I am sure your people will have no problem carrying this to where you want it. Keep the box if you want it, melt it down...whatever. It was provided by the man who took her from here in the first place. I have no use for it. I'd tell them to be careful though. She has not fed much since I have had her so she is probably going to be hungry, even in her condition."

He walked back around and climbed back in the van.

"If you do not mind, I would like to wait and meet with him when he is done with whatever he is doing. My meeting with him will not take long. I just want to make sure he and I still have an understanding."

Kiara shrugged and motioned for the guards to wheel the box around the back of the mansion.

"Fine... but you're staying at the door" she said as she lead him back to the mansion. As the doors were opened servants could be seen going about their business.

She climbed up the steps to the front then turned and looked at Quinn.

"I hear your progeny Arabella is here... once Bill is do-" she began and paused as the girl in question came down the hall from Bill's office.

"Well nevermind...guess you two can leave together"

Quinn smiled, seeing Arabella walking down the hall.

"Everything going ok? I figured you guys would be headed back home by the time I got here."

Arabella walked down the hallway to see the King's consort escorting Jonathan into the foyer.

"Jonathan? What are you doing here?"

Hearing his question she stepped close and whispered.

"I am not sure. He wanted to talk to her alone. I have to say I am nervous. This could go good or bad."

"Relax Arabella. I was just dropping something off that Compton was looking for. I am just going to stick my head in to see how things are going and to let him know the package is here."

He patted her cheek and walked toward Compton's office, ignoring the startled servants.

As he patted her cheek and brushed past her, he said something about going into the office. She looked after him and her protest fell dead in her throat. He was going to do what he wanted, no matter the price. She knew that. With a sigh, she sat down to wait.

Kiara watched the exchange before Quinn suddenly made a bee-line to Bill's office.

"Dammit Quinn...what did I just get through saying, he is too busy" she said, going after the hulking form and knowing her words were falling on deaf ears.
