Making Amends

She nodded, feeling a twinge of desperation. If Bill wouldn't spend time with her tonight, she doubted there would be a next chance.

"Yes..I understand that you're busy, that you need to protect everyone. But please... just tonight, all I ask for is one night Bill... just one night... you and I"

"All you need to do is just say sweetheart....Not ask" he whispered.

Leaning forward as his hand snaked around to the base of her neck as he pulled her lips to his own and held it there as he allowed them both just to connect in this moment of silence and peace. No war, no fighting, no one else except Bill and Kiara. He scooted closer to her so that his body could be closer to Kiara in every way possible.

She closed her eyes a second before his lips met hers. She didn't want to think of anything right now, not of the war, not of what could happen. Right now all she wanted was to be held, to be held and to savor the rarity of not having to be strong.

She moved her body against his until they were both tangled limbs on the lounge chair. She clutched his shirt, breaking the kiss for a moment.

"Bill...will you promise me one thing?"

Bill was lost in the moment with Kiara and he would have been happy to have stayed there for as long as he could, if it meant that he could forget the war and everything else that threatened them. But when she pulled back he was a little defeated, but when she asked him to promise her something it had him curious.

"Anything.....Name it" he encouraged her, he wanted to know what it was.

She smiled and pressed her forehead against his.

"That...when this war is over... no matter what has happened... that you will embrace your family, and find happiness"

She kissed him back, not wanting his arguments or questions. She wanted him to be happy, so desperately she wanted him to be happy that surely he would never forgive her for what she would do for him.

That was not something that Bill expected to hear from Kiara's mouth, to be honest Bill never knew what to expect from Kiara now days.

"Of course.....You know that I will" he admitted.

Bill couldn't shake this feeling that Kiara wasn't telling him something, something important. But he would forget it for now. Right now all that mattered was Kiara and Kiara alone as he kissed her back welcoming the moment with her.

She snuggled to him as she kissed him harder. She would drown in him tonight. She turned over until she was laying ontop of him, her lips latched unto his.

Tonight it was just them, no war, no one after them, no one plotting. Just a man and a woman who spent way too little time together.
