Brianna's Last Request

Brianna felt like she could sleep forever and a part of her wanted to, her body was weak as she drifted between consciousness and unconsciousness as her limp body lay tucked up in her bed. Her pillow propping her head up, her body rejecting blood that she attempted to drink to quench her hunger that was growing. She didn't know what was wrong with her but she felt like crap, the only thing she could compare it to was having the flu as a child and that had kept her in bed for over three weeks. 

Her eyes flickered open as the lights were blinding her sensitive eyes as she tried to make out the face of those around her as it took her a moment to see who it was sitting on the edge of her bed, Jessica.

"You look just how I feel" she attempted to smirk as it led to a fit of coughing and spluttering.

"Shh...don't talk. Just rest okay. Can I get you anything? Anything at all?" She had paced, cried, gotten angry, prayed for a cure, searched for a cure....but still had not contacted Quinn. After all, Brianna was hurt by him and would kill her if she did...well, if she lived that is.

Brianna laughed lightly as she fought against the pain in her chest that was spreading through her body as she cried out from the raging fire that was burning in her body as she slid into a foetal position to attempt to shut out the pain.

"You can tell me if Elvis is really dead" she joked "....I heard rumours that he was alive" she asked Jessica hoping to lighten the mood.

She smiled softly and let out a small, quick laugh. "Well...not exactly. His name is Bubba now, he's....he's a vampire. I had the pleasure of singing and dancing with him once...really long time ago." She shook her head and smiled. "He's really sweet. Likes cats..." Made a face and smiled.

Brianna couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"He's a vampire?.....Really?" she asked gob-smacked

She cried out again as her body shook with agonizing pain as she convulsed in agony. Tears streaming down her face as she screamed out. The pain was too much, she was not sure how much more she could handle of this.

"...Where is Matthew....I need to see him" she cried.

She jumped up at her scream and scrunched her face up, seeing her like this was painful. "I'll go get him." She darted from the room. Seeing a guard, she stopped him. "Where's Matthew?" He grinned and tried to charm or flirt with her. She didn't give him a chance, pinning him to the wall with one hand on his neck, she glared. "WHERE IS MATTHEW!!!"

The guard pointed to the west wing. "He's in the conservatory on the second floor."

"Thank you." She released him and let him fall to a heap on the floor as she sped towards that direction. "Matthew where the hell are you!" She called out to him.

Matthew had just finished his break as he retreated to the second floor conservatory as he always found it to be the most quietest room in the King's estate. He had noticed that Brianna had been avoiding him and had not called for him so he decided that he would wait until the coast was clear so that he could visit her. Hearing his name being called as he appeared from the room to find Jessica, the King's eldest progeny calling for him.

"Miss Hamby? Is there something wrong?" he quizzed curiously.

She found him and pushed his chest, slamming him against the wall. "She's dying! She's fucking dying and you were supposed to protect her! How could you let her get contaminated blood. HOW!!" She slapped him hard and took her anger out on him, sinking to her knees. "She's..dying."

Matthew grunted and hissed as he was slammed against the wall as picture frames on the wall dropped to the floor and the glass shattering. Hearing that Brianna was dying caught him off guard as his breath left his body.

"How?....How is that possible?" he asked, trying to catch his breath. 

Feeling the sting in his face as he slowly sunk to his knees in front of Jessica, reaching out he slowly placed his hand on her shoulder.

"....I am so sorry Mis-Jessica...Where is she?" he asked her softly.

She jerked away from him and looked away, so angry with him that as her guard he had allowed her to somehow drink contaminated blood. If she didn't get a grip soon, she'd kill him. "Her bedroom. She's asking for you. Go....now." She stood and moved away from him to control her anger. So many thoughts going through her mind.

Matthew didn't need telling twice as he got to his feet and left Jessica as he headed straight for Brianna's bedroom. Not caring for knocking he entered and found Brianna in her bed, black veins all over her face and arms. Everything inside him broke. Moving swiftly to sit beside Brianna as he took her hands into his own.

"....I am here Brianna" he whispered.

Brianna felt like she was choking, one cough always ending into a coughing fit as she covered her mouth to see her hand covered with her own blood. Seeing Matthew brought a smile to her face.

"...You came" she smiled.

"Of course I came, I would have come sooner...Jessica just told me" he choked.

He tucked a stray lock of her hair behind her ear as he gazed down lovingly at her. Brianna was dying, that thought alone was enough to cripple him. But he could not show Brianna, he would not break down in front of her.

Brianna placed her hand in Matthew's as her tears continued to streak down her face, she knew what was happening to her but she did not want to admit it. She was dying and she knew it. When her bedroom door opened and Jessica entered she smiled again.

"I need to ask you to do something for me Jessica...Please" she cried as she fought back the pain again.

She looked up when her name was mentioned, after she had gotten her composure she had gone back to Brianna's room. Bill was holed up in his study, grieving for the loss that was sure to come. He was also feeling all of Brianna's pain. It had to be agony. She smiled softly, "Anything sis, anything at all."

Brianna did not know if she could ask this, but she knew what was coming she could feel it deep down inside of her. It was now or never.

"...I want to see Quinn...I need to....Will you *she began another coughing fit*....Will you bring him here?" she practically begged Jessica.

Her eyes widened at her request and she stumbled on her own words. "I...we...he...um....sure? I, yeah sure...I can do that." She shifted nervously and thought about seeing Quinn after his new girlfriend had attacked Brianna, but that was for another time. "I'll go right now.." She turned for the door.

"Wait!" as he called to Jessica to see her standing by the door ready to leave.

Turning back to Brianna as he tried to understand why Brianna would want to see him, he tried but he still didn't understand.

"Why do you want to see him Brianna? He left you alone?" he asked, afraid of the answer.

Brianna knew Matthew would hate this by seeing the look on his face, but she had to see him. She had to say sorry to him for hurting him. This might be her only chance.

"Please Matthew...I want to see him...I need to tell him...Please" she begged.

Crying out again as pain took over her as she screamed out.

Hearing her scream sent shivers down his spine as he attempted to soothe her pain but he knew that he could not. Placing a kiss upon her cheek he stood up and turned to Jessica who was still waiting.

"Let's go..I will escort you" he told her.

Pushing past her as he exited the room.

Her brows shot up at his willingness to leave her and she made a mental note to quiz him about it all. Getting into the car downstairs, he drove and she looked over at him. "You can drive faster you know. If I had gone alone, I'd be there by now."

She rolled her eyes, still angry with him. "Why were you so eager to leave her side? Knowing she doesn't have long left...do you really care for her?" She was going to investigate this.

Matthew had called for a car to be ready and parked out front of the King's home. Hopping straight into the car with Jessica in the front passenger seat as he put his foot to the gas as he sped out of the gates heading straight to the beast's home. He could hear Jessica questioning him about why he was so quick to leave.

"I was hired to protect Brianna and I have failed in that task. She wants that man at her bedside and if that is what will make her happy then I will do it" he snapped at her "And how can you ask me that? I love her...I am in love with her and now she is...." he ended abruptly.

Putting his foot down on the gas, he knew that Brianna did not have long left.

She was still weary on his answers, watching him from the passenger seat. He never looked at her, he always avoided her eyes. She considered glamouring him, but time was not her friend. As he reached the gates to Quinn's place, she spoke to one of the guards who knew her. "Tell Vinny it's Jess. I need to see Quinn and it's an emergency."

Quinn saw Mathew on the monitor with Jessica and growled. He looked to Tolvin and nodded.

"Take them. Check both for weapons and bring them to the common rooms. I'll be waiting."

Stopping at the the gates as the guards asked them to step out of the car they were travelling in as they complied with their instructions as they instantly began searching them both.

"We mean no harm" he insisted patiently as he could see the irritated look on Jessica's face.

Knowing that he was carrying his hand gun as he pulled it out from his holster as he tossed it to the guard.

"Keep it. Souvenir" he smirked. 

He heard Jessica say something to the guard but he paid no attention to her as he just wanted to do what Brianna had asked and bring the beast to her bedside. Once the guards were satisfied that they were free from all weapons as they both hopped back into the car as Matthew drove down the short lane to the beasts home as he parked the car outside. Another guard stood outside and greeted them.

"Follow me" he ordered.

Not caring for any fight tonight he and Jessica followed the guard inside the home of John Quinn as he took in the surroundings as they entered a common room of sorts and found him sitting in a chair looking pleased with himself. He would let Jessica take the lead on this one.
