Kiara dug into the breadbowl filled with onion soup. The more she regained her strength the hungrier she was. At least this kept Katia pleased although the other vampires weren’t fond of watching her eat. Something about the smell of human food not being pleasing to them.
She didn’t care. An hour after sundown William and his vampires were scheduled to leave which couldn’t come soon enough. She hadn’t minded them when she had been weak and often just confined to sleeping and every now and again eating something. But now that she was a bit stronger and was trying to walk about to build her strength, seeing all these handsome vampire men annoyed her. Especially since none of them knew the meaning of the words ‘bashful’ or ‘modesty’. She had lost track of how many times she’d seen a free swinging man. Worse of all it seemed to amuse William to no end to see her frustrated over all the naked men. He kept suggesting she was welcome to take one to her bed.
The saddest part of all was that if she weren’t so sick and tired of being sick and tired she would have taken one of them to bed. Bill seemed almost like a distant memory, she couldn’t remember the last time they had even been together in the same room, let alone experienced intimacy. It was the downside of healing. As her body grew stronger so did her hungers and her more wolfish desires. She hadn’t even attempted to shift because of her still mending bones.
She had spent most of the daylight hours picking up all the mess around her house. It took her longer because her knees still feeling stiff. Not to mention there were some articles of clothes she didn’t want to imagine anyone wearing.
Thankfully cleaning up around the house, picking up the stray clothes and eventually putting food in the oven ate up most of the day. By the time the sun went down and she could hear the tell-tale signs of vampire activity the house was pretty much in decent shape. She just needed to de-scent her house from all these vampires and she’d be happy.
