The Journey Home

Max was taken back by her outburst "Whores? You really think so little of me don't you?" he commented.

Gazing upon her he could see the state that she was in "What happened to you?" he spoke appraising her physical appearance.

She paused as she sat on one of the chairs. She debated telling him what had really happened, but it would be difficult to explain the disaster in the bedroom and all the blood in the bathroom.

"It doesn't matter. Just...." she rested her head on her hand, holding the bridge of her nose "Go back to the woman you were draining" she ended. Telling him what she'd discovered wouldn't do her any good, and he wouldn't understand it anyways.

Max had given up "Fine. If that is how you want to play things. We are only a few hours away from landing. When we land, you can do whatever you want. I am sick and tired of trying to earn your forgiveness when clearly you have a death wish!" he bellowed at her.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a small folded up file and tossed it onto the bed.

"Here. I thought you might want this. It's the location of your daughter's grave. Washington. Since I did not know what you would have liked for her I chose something simple" he grimaced.

Turning from her again he left her alone.

"Forgiv-" she began but her words were cut off. She fell forward, clutching her chest as her body spasmed again.

Very painfully all her bones cracked, her skin seemed to boil as she transformed back into a wolf against her will. She laid there, whining softly in pain, her hands now paws bloody as the claws contracted inside the soft pads.

The wolf on the floor actually breathed, but blood slowly oozed out of its nostrils and mouth making for a very pitiful sight. It tried to drag itself under the torn bed, seeking some form of refuge but its hinds legs didn't seem to work.

Max did not close the door on his way out but headed towards the waiting stewardess who was waiting for him to return.

"Leave. Go and do your job like you are paid to!" he snapped at her frightening her away.

Max's mood was only growing sour by the moment.

Eventually she turned back to her normal non wolf form, but she was in bad shape. Drained of energy she laid there beneath the bed in total darkness. Max didn't understand she had been trying to keep him safe. She'd already destroyed several things in a confused rage and killing him wouldn't do anyone any good.

She felt the world spin again as darkness took over; her last image being of the envelope that contained the location of Sophie's grave.
