As my eye lids flickered open, as brightly lights shone directly into my eyes, using my right hand to shield them from the direct light. I was laid in my own chamber in the Authority headquarters. A red magenta silk sheet covered my medium frame.
Closing my eyes for a moment, re-calling the previous night, hoping that Jessica would have gone by now. Craning my head to the side, an old Birge and Fuller clock hung firmly against the wall, looking closer to the time - 7:01pm. The sun had set over an hour ago.
Remembering the conversation that Jessica and I had the night before...forcing her to drink the blood of Lilith, taking away her free will. Turning her into the very thing i had spent many months teaching her to not become. And i had done that in a few minutes.
I had destroyed her in moments.
Slowly sitting up in bed, my knees bent up to my chest, my arms draped across them as my hands hung in mid-air.
"Good evening Mr Compton"
Salome had just entered my chambers, dressed in a long satin black robe that tied around her waist, her long slim legs exposed towards her thigh. Her long soft brown curled hair spread across her shoulders, some ringlets that draped across her creamy smooth skin. And bright red lips that sparkled as the lights beamed into the room.
"Chancellor...What may i do for you this evening?"
She smiled as she swayed across the room, as though she was hoovering above the floor. She took a seat next to me on the bedside.
"Your child has gone, i escorted her from the premises. She has come to our side, Lilith has chosen her, she walks the path that Lilith has laid before us" she giggled.
"Yes...Yes she has" i forced the words from my mouth.
"Trust her William. She will do us proud. Lilith will guide her, allow Lilith to show her the way"
Forcing myself to accept everything that was sprouting from her mouth, all the lies that deceived her.....and myself. She placed her hand on my hard chest, placing my hand on her cheek, staring into her eyes.
"Praise Lilith" she beamed at me.
