Hoyt Fortenberry had broken a promise to himself, he had broken the one promise that he would not let that vampire Jessica Hamby get to him, but somehow she had gotten beneath his skin and twisted the dagger into his heart a little further, and make him feel even worse than he already did. He mentally cursed himself for even thinking that she would even feel what he felt, and yet continually she twisted that dagger further, piercing it further. Although the several beers that he had at Merlotte's didn't help, three pitchers of beer, 8 bottles of Bud and some strong spirits served neat. Sam had refused to serve him anymore as he found it hard to stand and had taken him home to his mama's house. It was a good thing that his mama was not home, he couldn't handle a lecture of her when he felt this drunk. Sam had dropped him on his bed fully clothed and left him with a bucket next to his bed and a glass of cold water on his bedside table in case he was sick, which as the minute he did. Good thinking Sam Merlotte. Hoyt continued to the bedside table and grabbed the glass of water and swallowed in one mouthful, welcoming the cool liquid with open arms as it cooled his dry and scratchy throat, it felt like heaven.

Why did he have to go and confront her now? and end up in this state, letting her wind him up to the state of pure annoyance that drove him to the brink of self inflicted wounds that the alcohol would bring him, but as this moment he did not care, nor wanted to care. He was happy and content in his own big bed, in the warmth where he felt safe from any and all vampires. He wanted to speak with Vampire Bill about his so called daughter, maybe he could shed some light on why the glamour did not work, maybe he would have the answer. He made a point to find out, as soon as he felt well enough, no doubt he would be in bed all day, and he would enjoy it. Staying home and sleeping, and hopefully without the dream of Jessica invading his sleep. He then came to realize that he missed Anchorage, he missed the company of Betty, he missed George, what would George think of him acting like this, he would be ashamed that he let someone get him this down in the dumps. He then thought of Amy....God he missed Amy, her smile that always cheered him up, he had forgotten to call her to let her know that he had come home.

Reaching out for his cell phone, his eyes blurred as he hit a few dials and typed out a message, reading it over before it sent.

"I love you x" he finished typing it out and hit the send button as it beeped when it confirmed that it had sent, smiling bashfully as he dropped the phone to his bed, his eyes becoming insanely heavy as his mind started to drift, and sleep overcome his thought, as he no longer thought about Jessica Hamby, but dreamt of Betty, of George.....of Amy.
