"HURRY BACK SWEETIE"
"Alright" Hoyt chuckled.
Hoyt had exited Amy's apartment to go and fetch himself and Amy some food, he wanted to spoil her, he had spent the night at her apartment again after the whole reveal at Merlotte's and they were both in need of some food; hot pancakes and syrup, blueberry muffins and some hot coffee. His mouth practically drooled at the thought, he could almost taste the mouth watering syrup on his lips, the sweet sticky liquid. He still couldn't believe that he could turn into a dog.
It had certainly shocked his momma, blew her socks off. He had always liked Sam, and this did not change a thing, he had asked Amy if there was more out there, but right now he didn't want to know, he was happy with the way things were. He waited on the sidewalk and waited for the lights to signal it was alright for him to cross.
It was just a few blocks away to his destination as he watched a black vehicle pull up at the traffic lights and stop, waiting for the lights to change again. He had seen that car before, it had been parked out in the parking lot across from Amy's apartment and he had seen it parked in Merlotte's when he had gone in to see Sam.
Hoyt pushed it to the back of his mind as he walked the few blocks to where he wanted to be. After half an hour of waiting, exiting the shop with his box of goodies; several stacks of pancakes and syrup, several types of muffins and baked goods and two cups of steaming hot coffee. And there he saw it again, the black car parked across the street, he couldn't see in the windows as they were tinted.
"HEY!" Hoyt called out and walked across the road, but as he drew closer to the car, the engine roared to life and screeched down the road. Hoyt found it odd that someone did that. Why would they run from him?
Hoyt had a feeling that he was being watched? But by who? And why?
