Jason Stackhouse slumped in the bathtub as the once warm water soon became a chilly ice cavern that clung to his body as his flesh could feel nothing, his body frozen as he lay beneath the cool surface. His body numb from everything, his mind forcing out that he could think off. His body aching for some response from his arm, his hair trickling with ice droplet of water as they trickled down his prickly cheek.
His eyes as red as blood as his body had been severely deprived of sleep, his mind screaming at him to allow the darkness to take him, to take him to a world that he could be anything that he wanted. He could be the hero of the story, he would still have the girl that he wanted.
His life would be complete.
As the only sound that could be heard was the voice from a radio that Jason had placed by the bathroom door, the voice of a male that Jason knew to be the DJ for the evening hours of a Friday night. With his able arm he reached over the ledge of the tub and found his beer as he raised it to his lips to drain the rest of his liquid. Dropping the bottle onto the floor as it clashed with the tiles and spun across the slippery wet floor.
He couldn't do it anymore.
He had enough.
He did not have the strength to fight anymore, he had lost all the fight that he had in him. Glancing to the side of the tub as he found his phone as he scrolled through his contacts and he came to Sookie's name in the list, hesitant at first as he hit dial.....voice mail.
".....Sookie its Jason....I just want to say I'm sorry...I'm sorry for not being the best big brother you had...And tell Alcide that if he don't look after you, imma kick his ass...Tell the kids..tell the kids that uncle Jase will be watching them...I love you Sook" he whimpered as he ended the call dropping his phone to the floor over the tub ledge.
His face dry and cracked as he could feel tears prick in the corners of his eyes, using his one able hand as he reached over the ledge and felt around til he found what he needed, a bottle of pills that he had found from Lafayette's stash, some sort of painkillers. Flipping the lid off as he poured some onto the side of tub. Reaching for another open bottle of beer as he placed it next to the pills.
He had made his mind up...He couldn't do this any longer...This is what he wanted, Sookie would understand. His body had been been battered down to the last of what he was. Reaching for the pills as he placed several in his mouth and swallowed them dry as he placed a few more and swallowed. Taking a swig of his beer as he cleansed his mouth as he reached for the final few and placed them in his mouth and took another swig of beer as he drained the bottle.
Dropping the bottle into the cool water as it splashed and trickled down his face...This was it..The end.
After several moments his head began to feel woozy as he could feel his whole body become weak and lifeless...This was it..It was happening, his eyes became heavy and blurry as he lost focus...A smile crept across his face as his entire life flashed before his eyes.
"Je---Jess?" he muttered
His eyes grew dark as Jason Stackhouse drifted into a peaceful sleep.....No pain...No fear...
