    Distracted Thinking Empty Distracted Thinking

    {He had a job in Shreveport that was nearly complete. His client, Mrs. Robicheaux, was in her late fifties and a kind woman. He had built on a room to her home so that she could have an arts and crafts room. Apparently she would soon be retiring and needed the extra space for hobbies. He was working outside today with a short sleeve shirt and jeans, and the weather was in the lower 40's. Mrs. Robicheaux was amazed at his ability to work outside and not be cold. She continuously offered him hot chocolate.}

    {He was on the roof of her house, nailing nails into the shingles of the added room. His thoughts had been on Sookie...all week. They had remained acting normal around one another but neither of them spoke of the...incident. He wanted to know what it meant but was unsure how to approach it. A moment of weakness on both their parts? Or was it deeper? He grinned as he thought about how she moaned his name, satisfied with himself that he was able to completely sate the angry sex monster as she called it. But was it just sex to him? No, not really. He'd held a torch for this woman for so long that it made him wonder what was going through her mind. She was the telepath...not him.}

    "Oh, Alcide dear?" {He looked down to see Mrs. Robicheaux bundled up and shaking.} "Come down for some hot chocolate before you catch yourself a cold! It's freezing out here and you're barely covered up." {He chuckled. What would he say? He's a wolf and wolves were hot? For now, his thoughts were interrupted.}

    "I'll be down in a few, only have about fifteen minutes worth of work left. I'll be fine, you go on inside, cher." {She sighed and shook her head at his stubborn ways. Going back to nailing, he thought about Sookie and wondered what was going through her mind. He looked up and pondered for a moment. Why wonder? Why not just bluntly ask? That's exactly what he'd do. He'd just ask her where they stood, instead of assuming only to be let down. Shaking his head, he let his mind drift back to that day and a smile never left him as he thought about rolling around the living room floor with her.}
