    Babysitting Empty Babysitting

Post by Jason Stackhouse Fri Mar 28, 2014 8:06 am

Jason had finally managed to pull it off, he had been able to switch shifts with Kevin so that he could have the weekend off. He had made plans with Arlene that he would come around to see Cody and Lisa to talk about doing something, perhaps fishing. It would do them both good to get out of the house for a while to give Arlene some peace. He would have taken Mikey but Jason had absolutely no clue on how to look after babies. He would help with Cody and Lisa as much as he could.

Parking his truck outside of the Bellefleur mansion he switch off the ignition and hopped out of his police truck locking it behind him. He climbed the small set of stairs to the door and knocked on. He knew that Andy was not around. With no answer he knocked on again.

"Arlene! It's Jason. Open up" he called as he knocked on the door again.

Coby was in the living room watching cartoons on TV. The house was quiet as his mama was upstairs sleeping after having another one of Jesus's cocktails as his mama called it. Lisa and Mikey were upstairs in her room with Adilyn talking about girl stuff which left him alone which is how he preferred it to be. He heard a knock at the door and heard who it was, he slid off the couch and headed to the door and opened it to see Jason standing there.

"Mama is upstairs with Jesus" was the first thing that he said.

Jason stood against the door as he waited for it to open, and when it did it was Cody. He turned with a smirk across his face.

"Hey little man...Your mama around?" he asked him.

    "Mama is upstairs with Jesus"

Jason frowned at his remark, as he remained outside of the mansion.

"Upstairs with Jesus?....You got Jesus here?" he asked confused.

Cody held the door open as his had to raise his head back so that he could look at Jason straight in the face. His neck was already starting to hurt as he rolled his head to the side.

"Mama is spending a lot of time with Jesus...Mama likes him in a glass. It makes the bathroom smell in the morning" he told Jason.

Cody remembered for the last few days that his mama had locked herself in the bathroom in the morning, he could hear her being sick.

After hearing what Cody said it still had Jason a little confused about having Jesus in the house. But hearing the remark about making the bathroom smell triggered something in the back of his mind that it was a drink. Many nights in Jason's early teens he had been sick because of drink, but he had never heard of one called Jesus before. Shrugging he turned his attention back to Cody.

"Well your mama and I talked...I am going to take you fishing this weekend. Me, you and Lisa. How does that sound?" he asked Cody.

Coby frowned as he heard fishing. No one had taken him fishing since Terry, his mama didn't like fishing.

"Terry took me fishing before he got died, mama says he is with Jesus and with lots of possums. Rene gone and burned in hell with the devil but Terry is with Jesus. That's what the bible says about good people and bad people. They burn in hell with the vampires, the homosexuals and the Mexicans" he told Jason.

Jason was left speechless, he really didn't know what to say about that. He knew that Arlene was set in her ways and that had rubbed off on her kids. Jason ran his hand through his hair and coughed a little to distract himself from what Cody had just said.

"Yeah....Exactly what the bible says...You know not everything in the bible is true. The ark that had all those animals and stuff on it...it wasn't built in a day. And like those ten commandments, they weren't written on stone cause back in them times they didn't have pens or crayons" he assured Cody.

Jason beamed, his Grams would be so proud of him knowing stuff from the bible.

That made Cody think. How could they write with nothing to use? Oh well, his stomach rumbled loudly, he hadn't eaten today. His mama would get them something from her work when she woke up but he didn't know when that would be.

"I am hungry and mama won't be awake for a long time. You know how to cook?" he asked Jason.

That was one thing that Jason couldn't do and that was cook, he normally relied on his Grams and Sookie to cook for him.

"I can do better. Go and get your sister and I will get us all a pizza, and we can talk about this fishing things" he grinned "We can tell your mama when she wakes up" he assured Cody.

Lisa, Cody and Mikey were like family to him and Sookie and had helped them out when their Grams had died. Terry was a good man, he would help where he could with the kids and Arlene.

"I want pizza!" Cody piped up with a big grin on his face.

He instantly raced off to go and get Lisa, Mikey and Adilyn as he raced up the stairs.

"LISA. ADILYN. WE ARE GETTING PIZZA AND GOING FISHING!" he bellowed loudly.

Jason chuckled to himself, he entered the house and closed the door behind him as Cody an up the stairs calling out for Lisa and Adilyn. He hadn't even realized that she was here, he hadn't seen her since he showed up with Violet and asked for her help to find Sookie. He would order a pizza for all of them, he knew what Lisa and Cody liked but not Adilyn. So it looked like he was babysitting for the night until Arlene was awake.

Maybe it would do the kids good to talk about Terry with someone who wasn't their mama. It had help Jason to talk to someone other than Sookie about Grams. He could be the fairy godfather, only without the fairy part...and the godfather part.
