How to save a life Empty How to save a life

Post by Bill Compton Tue Dec 18, 2012 4:13 am

Bill felt his body become alive as his mind sparked too life, his body regain its feeling from a numbness that drew him into his day sleep the following day, his body still dug deep beneath the heavy soil that lay across his chest. He had taken shelter beneath a large oak tree in Baton Rouge outside Kiara's home. He had underestimated the time limit that he had to return home to Bon Temps, he hated too leave Kiara alone, but with the draw of the sun calling him to the ground. As his fingers felt along the dirt, seeping between his fingers as his body began to shudder from the weight of dirt on his body as he shook his body to free himself from his shallow grave that he had dug himself to bury himself inside to shield himself from the sun's ray's.

As his head peered up from beyond the dirt, his face smudged with the dirt that clouded his eyes as he used his arms to pull himself from the grave, his legs struggling to regain their balance, it had been sometime since he had taken shelter under the ground. Now that he had regained his balance, he attempted to dust himself off, clumps of dirt that clung to his clothes like glue. Shaking himself free from all free flowing dirt, he remembered where he was, Baton Rouge....Kiara. He had stayed close to feel some comfort knowing that she was close by. He looked towards her home, he could see the main lights on inside, and yet could not detect any heartbeats inside, he considered this strange, it was not like Kiara to leave without turning of her lights. It was something that he had come to know, her routine, as he had been secretly watching her from the shadows of the trees, watching.....wanting to be there if she called too him.

It was then he listened more closely, he heard a faint murmur of a very faint heartbeat

Unable to pick up whose heartbeat it was, he proceeded more closely and quietly towards the main entrance of her home. He had been accustomed too knowing that she had silver embedded in her doors and windows. Covering his hand with his dirt covered jacket, he turned the door handle as watched as it swing open slowly, echoing an eerie creaking noise filling the empty house, his eyes drifting down to the invisible threshold that stood between him and entering. He was unsure if Kiara had rescinded his invitation, attempting fate, he raised his foot and it passed the threshold with ease. Now standing in her home, not a word passing from his lips as he listened to where the faint heart beat came from, hearing it direct from Kiara's bedroom, he made his way slowly towards her bedroom, his weight creaking across the floor, attempting to not make a sound as he peered around her bedroom door, the faint light from a bedside lamp was all that lit the room. He could smell her intoxicating scent surrounding him like a wave of sheer silk. It was then he spotted Kiara laid slumped upon her bed, her skin paler than usual.

Speeding over too her, his hands searching for her pulse, feeling that her pulse was severely weak, moving strands of hair from her face as he tried to wake her.

"Kiara........Kiara...................Kiara wake up! WAKE UP DAMMIT!!" the words bellowed from his lips, dusts of dirt spraying across her face and across her bed.

With still no response from her, his hand finding a small vial in her frail hand, picking it up between his fingers, the vial displaying a skull and crossbones, tossing the vial across the room and hearing it shatter against the floor he turned back to Kiara.

"Kiara.......KIARA!.................KIARA!" her name continuing to slide of his lips as he shook her lifeless frame with his hands, and still no response "You can't die like this......Not here.......Not today!" he spoke to himself, his eyes becoming heavy with his thick blood tears that trickled down his dirt covered face.

He pulled her lifeless frame into his arms, tilting her head back so that her mouth fell open, raising his wrist to his mouth and letting his fangs drop and sink into his wrist. Blood pooling in his mouth, he pulled his wrist from his mouth and placed it over Kiara's mouth and forced his blood down her throat as he felt some movement in his arms as she tried to move her lips from his lips. He had never much believed in God, he had never had the chance to pass onto the afterlife, he believed himself too be damned to this life, but in this moment he hoped and prayed that there was a god. She couldn't die like this, he wouldn't allow it, she could be mad at him afterwards, but at least she would still be alive.

As the wound on his wrist had healed, and he was satisfied that she had been given enough blood to help her heal, praying that he had gotten there in time. He gently rested her head on her pillow and watched her stir, pulling her thick duvet over her body, almost tucking her in. He sat on a empty chair at the other end of the room, hoping that he had enough time, that his blood would heal her. He couldn't loose her...he wouldn't. All he could do was wait.....
