*she had been thinking about Becky since their encounter on the street that day. She couldn't seem to get the images out of her mind, of her teen years, and the look on Becky's face. She sat alone and her mind wandered back, to that one fateful day, when everything changed for her.

It was a cool, crisp Autumn day, she had been walking down the street after school. She had stuck close to the buildings, hoping to remain invisible from prying eyes around her, and had managed to make it halfway through town before anyone noticed her. She had been making her way down First Street, when she heard voices, voices that were all to familiar to her. She started past the alley, hoping she could slip past without any of them seeing her, only to hear a meek voice in the midst of their taunts and obscenities. She looked around the corner of the building and there was Michael, Sarah, Tim and Richard, or Dick as she referred to him in private. They had a short, smaller boy, in glasses, cornered in the alley. He was holding up his shaking hands, trying to back away from them, looking for a way out. He looked over and saw her looking around the corner, his eyes begging for help. Leaning against the wall, her heart pounding in her chest, she took a deep breath and stepped into the alley. Moving up the alley, she reached around Dick, and grabbed the boys hand, pulling him behind her, telling him to run home. The boy looked up at her expectantly, unsure of what to do, shaking his head telling her “No, I wont leave you to them, I leave when you do” He moved up beside her, staring up at the bully's in front of them. Looking at each one of them, she turns her attentions to the group in front of her. Speaking loudly to them all, making sure the passersby on the street heard, and would hopefully stop. She could see a few people gathering at the lip of the alley, so she backed up a few steps, taking them closer to the group.*

Dick this is low even for you. I mean come on, he is like, what... 10 maybe 12 years old? Thats low even for you. What did he ever do to you, to warrant your harassing him? Nothing, but be smarter than you are. He's a child, you are almost an adult. Is this how you want to spend your life? Beating and bullying people who are smaller or what you consider weaker than you are? You know what, He will grow up to be smart and successful, and you know what you are going to be? A bully, thats all you will ever be, if you keep going the way you are going. Do not ever touch him or anyone else again, or you will be in deep shit, and I will see to it that you are. You need to learn that beating up people does not show your strength, but your weakness, your low self esteem, and your stupidity in thinking that just because you do this, these people you call your friends, will idolize you. You could be better than this, but its your choice, but you will not ever hit on me, or this boy again.

*taking the boys hand, she started to lead him away but stopped and turned to the dumbfounded group behind her, looking at Sarah, Michael, and Tim, speaking to them this time. *

You three really need to get a new idol, because honestly, he is not the type of role model anyone should follow.

*with that, she and the boy walked out of the alley, the group that had gathered clapping and telling her what a good job she had done. She walked the boy home and then made her own way home, a smile on her face*

*she came back to the present, hoping that Becky would be ok, and that she would make the right decisions instead of letting her bullies dictate her actions throughout her life.*
