Yea I Walk Through The Valley... Empty Yea I Walk Through The Valley...

*Waiting for the emergency operator with the car company to answer, it seems like it's been hours but it's been ten minutes. Staring at the rear view mirror as if it would hurry them up. My nerves are on edge, looking over at Rikki she looks a bit rattled as well. Finally I clear my throat and I didn't realize it was so loud that she nearly jumped through the roof. Touching her in reassurance again feeling her flinch. Wondering if I am the cause of this? She hasn't said anything in nearly 20 mins, she looks ready to bolt.*

Well Dear it seems we are in one area of the world that tracking satellites must not work well. Forgive me I never found out what one they used and looked for the black out areas, For most it's in Alaska and the tip of South America. I think I might walk back the service road to see if there is someplace we can use a phone to call the auto club.

*feeling his hand on her arm, she flinched, remembering the things he said to her in the ladies room. She was deeply hurt over his words, and then when he mentioned walking back, she jerked her head around and began shaking it*

You mean, leave me here, alone? in the middle of nowhere?

*her body began shaking and she started trying to get out of her seatbelt. Finally, after watching her struggle, Alcide reached over and helped her. Looking at him, she was trembling, and gripping the door*

I'm going with you, I will not stay here, alone. I can't Alcide, and please do not say that I have to.

*she could hear the hysteria in her voice, she was terrified of him leaving her alone here. Seeing him nod and open his door, she grabbed her jacket and purse and opened hers, rushing to his side, as she slipped her coat on, then took hold of his arm in a death grip. Her eyes darted around, and every sound made her jump. She followed Alcide and looked back, seeing the car had disappeared from their view. She kept looking around, the sounds making her nervous for some reason.

They had been walking for what seemed like hours, when the raindrops started falling. Big, fat drops of water, that soaked through their clothing quickly. Looking up at Alcide, she shrugged and moved closer to him, holding her purse to her. They continued walking, and as twilight began descending over them, they saw the shimmer of light in the distance, and as they drew closer, they saw it was a building, a rather creepy building as she looked at it, but it was a building. She followed Alcide to the door, looking up at him uneasily, as his hand reached out for the handle*

*Rikki looks as if she would jump out of her skin, her hand on her purse her fingers are white from the death grip on the handle. The rain drops pelt us making our clothing stick to our bodies. Opening the door to the strange looking building stepping into the darkness from the failing light. I feel Rikki tight against me as I walk towards the dimly lit bar. Stepping up to the bartender leaning over,*

Hello our vehicle broke down and we need to be directed to a phone.

    * The bartender leans over and I see that his ears are almost pointed and his teeth seemed a bit sharp and his skin seem to glow in the dim light, with a greenish hue. He says,*

"The mens room should have a payphone. Do you want something to drink? And the Missus?"

*I shake my head looking back at Rikki she looked a bit parched, smiling,*

Can I get 2 glasses of water?

*The Bartender slides two plastic bottles of water towards us, I escort Rikki to a table sitting down the water pulling her chair out she has this look of horror on her face as I walk towards where the bartender pointed for the mens room.*

*she was glued to Alcide's side as they entered the bar. The man behind the bar was evil looking and scary to her. He had what looked like pointed ears, and a sickly pallor to his skin, making it appear a grayish green. Then he smiled at her, and she saw sharp pointed teeth. Moving closer to Alcide, she was petrified when he walked her to a table and pulled out a chair, like he expected her to stay. Being the dutiful wife, fearful as ever, she sat, and opened the water taking a drink. She watched her husband disappear into the bathroom, and then looked around. Everyone was staring at her, so she grabbed her cross and began praying, as some of them moved towards her. She prayed harder, whispering the words*

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want,
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
    He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me,

*opening her eyes, there were several of them around her, staring at her as they licked their lips. She prayed harder, looking from one to the other*

Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
    Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

*as she finished her prayer, she felt her uneasiness grow and she asked the Lord for protection from the evil around her. Looking at each of them, she said in a shaky voice*

    M....My h...h... husband sh...should be b...back s...soon. Th...then we w..will b..be on o...our way, and w..we w..wont tell... anyone about you...

*Walking into the mens room grabbing the ancient looking payphone digging in my pocket for change, taking out a few coins placing the receiver to my ear only to hear static. Replacing it in the cradle shoving the change back into my pocket as the mens room door opens and a smallish man walks it, on closer inspection he is not a man, he's some kind of monster. His ears pointed, with beady black eyes and teeth as sharp as a amazon fish, flashing all them at me as if to scare me. I step around him saying,*

Excuse me I left my wife unattended.

*His voice was reedy thin and he points at me saying,*

"Hurry back to her she is praying to a god who doesn't listen. You both have seen us for what we are, and you cannot leave."

*I look at him in abject horror knowing this is my last night on earth, the words from the good book spring to mind. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Sighing at the strange little monster man saying in a dejected tone,*

If you are going to kill us, I would rather you do it together so we do not have to suffer and watch each other die. Kill us at once and fast. I am not one who will survive, hopefully heaven is what they say it is.

*Slamming open the door rushing into the bar area seeing Rikki surrounded and she's quoting the 23rd Psalms over and over. I rush over to her pulling her out of the chair backing us out towards the door trying to make a run for it. There was a blur beside me with inhuman strength grabbing my arms pulling me down to my knees still holding Rikki tight against me. I plead to the monster man,*

Please spare my wife she's the most of pious of people, she will not say anything about you. I should be enough to satisfy you all. If you are the type who eat people. Cannibalism has only 1.18% of the people in the world who practice it. I am asking as a good christian man.

*The small monster men and the greyish green men stare at each other not speaking but you can tell they are holding a conversation between each other telepathically.*

*feeling hands on her arms, she screams out, and opens her eyes, and falls into Alcides arms, tears streaming down her face. Looking around then back to her husband*

Alcide, we have to leave, they are going to kill us, I know it. Please lets go.

*moving with Alcide, she jumps when a man appears behind them, and puts Alcide on his knees. She begins praying again, silently, holding her cross in her hand. She hears Alcide speaking to them, hears him call her pious, she became furious, turning on him, her fists clenched at her sides*

Pious? PIOUS? how dare you Alcide Herveaux, when little more than two hours ago I was a harlot!!!! and not following the righteous path!!! Now, when we are about to die, you have the audacity to say I am devoted and have a dutiful spirit!!!

*she was screaming at him, all the anger she felt from earlier, coming to the surface as she looked down at her husband*

*Grabbing her hand with my free hand looking up at her with a look that says I love you and I think you are crazy as well. I would never call my beautiful wife a harlot. She's the one who grounds me keeping me a faithful christian. She's a inspiration for anyone. Why would she think I think she's on the wrong path. Gently I say to,her with a earnest look*

My love I would never call you something so heinous. You are my rock you are the one who steadies me in my faith. I love and cherish you. Two hours ago? We were at the gas station and I was only parted from you for a short amount of time when I was in the little boys room, you were in the little girls room did you injure yourself? Did you hit your head?

*The grey green people and the monster men watch our interaction with avid fascination. As if we were a reality show come to like. Welcome to Snapped! Christian Women Version. Rubbing my finger on her hand,*

If this is our last conversation before we get to heaven I do not want you upset with me. I for the life of me remember that, I remember filling up the tank driving up the car you and I going inside and coming out of the little mens room and adding air to the tire and heading back out. You are the most important thing to me.

*looking down at him, his hand in hers, rubbing it like he did when she was upset about something, she could see the truth in his eyes, her eyes opening wide in shock*

Alcide, you came into the ladies room, locked the door and pushed me up against the wall and said "You have no idea how hard it is to walk God's path with temptation so close at hand, Rikki...." then you kissed me, rather heatedly I might add, and then did things you have never done before. Then you turned on me *tears falling down her cheeks* and said "You move your body like a harlot, Rikki. Sometimes I wonder if you truly follow the proper path..."

*sobbing, she looked at Alcide, seeing the shock on his face at her words. She honestly thought he didn't remember doing that. She prayed for guidance and leaned down and kissed her husband, whispering to him*

I forgive you Alcide, and I love you, more than anything, and we will meet on God's celestial shore....

*feeling arms grip her, she is jerked away from him, watching him fight to get to her, and her reaching for him. She was screaming as she was surrounded by the little green and brown men. They gripped her arms, pushing her down onto the floor, knocking tables out of the way. She felt several of them sink their teeth deep into her skin, then she heard Alcide screaming and knew he was fighting. She looked up through a break in the crowd around her, and her eyes met his, then they were blocked again, as she felt one arm ripped from her body, the scream dying on her lips, as the pain took over. The other arm was next, the pain excrutiating enough that she did scream. Blood was covering everything, and as her heart started slowing in its beats, she prayed one last prayer, for Alcide, that he not suffer, that if he were to die, it would be quick and painless. She looked up as one of the green men, with pointy ears grabbed her head, the last thing she remembers, was a scream of anguish, then there was silence.*

*Hearing the rending of skin and the inhuman growls and screams, feeling the sharp teeth sinking to my flesh like a thousand needles pricking me, then I feel cold steel at my throat and my breath making gurgling noises as I cannot feel anything just hear the agonized screams of Rikki and someone else. Saying a silent prayer than Rikki's end will be swift and merciful. I wished they had let her go and taken my life. Growing cold and my vision blurs my last vision is the little monster man with Rikki's pinkie finger picking his sharp teeth with it leaning down to me saying with a coppery breath in my face,*

"Your wife she tasted more like pork the other white meat than chicken. Maybe you will taste like beef."

*I hear a sucking sound and things fade away.*
