Learning To Forgive For The Past Empty Learning To Forgive For The Past

"The vampires as a group have cheated death. And when death has no meaning, then life has no meaning. And when life has no meaning, it is very, very easy to kill"

"Not true, Reverend Newlin, life has great meaning for us. We've all known the joy of human life. And as several of your kind demonstrated in Louisiana three weeks ago, we most certainly can die. Your assertion is little more than a veiled incitement for your supporters to come kill us"

"No amount of political grandstanding can hide the fact that you know who killed my family. Their blood is on your hands"

    "That's an outrageous accusation"

"Can you back that up, reverend?"

"My father's death was an assassination, pure and simple. A killing meticulously planned, ruthlessly executed. From there, all we have to ask is who stands the most to gain"

Hoyt Fortenberry scoffed heavily at the TV as it continued to play re-runs of Reverend Steve Newlin and some Vampire from the AVL. Hoyt had never really paid attention to Vampire politics since he was no longer with Jessica Hamby. He had been having trouble sleeping, his eyes were heavy and swollen, his head dizzy with sleep as he fought to stay awake. Ever since his confrontation with Jessica he had not been able to sleep, his head and heart waging a war inside of him.

He couldn't carry on like this, still not hearing from Amy either, and he had still not seen Jason Stackhouse either and he noticed that Jessica was avoiding him when he went to Merlotte's on the evenings that she worked. Truly he had been avoiding her as best he could, but yet something kept drawing him to the bar and he knew that it was his heart that was doing it. He hated that his heart seemed to strongly over-rule his head, he had been in this situation once before and look where he ended up.

Hoyt couldn't carry on like this, he knew that Jessica had hurt him, destroyed him in a sense, but he knew that if he would have too move on, move and learn to live his life free from anything. Switching off the TV with the remote he stumbled too his feet, he knew what he had too do. He had too find Jessica, he just had too. He practically ran to his front door and open the door, blinded by the sunlight that shone brightly upon him.

    It's daylight.

Hoyt scanned back to the clock, it was only just after 11am. Jessica would still be asleep now, he would wait, he would wait until tonight to seek her out. She needed to know how he felt, he knew the right thing too do. Call it his own personal 'good deed' for the day. Closing the door, he slumped against it, but first he needed too sleep. Trudging back to his room, throwing the door open he collapsed on his bed, not fighting against his brain screaming at him to sleep, he fell into a deep and peaceful slumber.
