She rushed out of Merlotte's quicker than someone saying her name. After she impulsively kissed Quinn right there right in front of James, she knew it had been...a mistake? But her lips continued to tingle and she wanted to slap him, then kiss him again. He made her so angry but he'd held her heart for so long, so much was happening, so much was changing.
The only place left that felt like maybe there were no change was her home, still looked the same as she left it. Newspapers piled up on her doorstep. James had followed her out of the bar but she thought she'd lost him. Right now, she couldn't deal with seeing the pain in his eyes that she caused. All she ever did was screw up, hurt people, kill...innocent girls.
She sighed and closed the door with her foot, dropping down to the floor to sit and stare at the pile of papers. The top paper, the Bon Temp Journal, had an article about vampire casualties. It caught her eye so she picked it up to examine it, reading the article.
Her mouth fell open, tears brimmed her eyes as she stood up and shook her head. "No...no....not her too." She stumbled back and hit a barstool that had been lying across the floor and fell into a heap, her blood tears falling onto the newspaper, seeping through. She cried and let herself scream out loud. Nothing was the same, everything had changed.
Her guilt from killing the fairy girls.
Her guilt from hurting Quinn and breaking the promise.
Her pain from losing him.
Her pain from hurting James.
Her pain from hurting Jason.
The pain...from losing a friend.
And the pain of knowing...she had to tell Bill.
Simply put, she was a mess and a half.
