Closing the book Empty Closing the book

She took a deep breath. After that debacle of the marriage ceremony Kiara had no desire to stay in Louisiana. Glenn and Logan agreed that she needed a fresh start. No vampires, no other weres, just normal humans. She needed to focus on Sophie, on loving her daughter and trying to find herself.

It is the reason she found herself here up north. Finding a nice modest townhouse near a community college. Very suburban, but near a nice park, a few minutes’ drive from a state park and forest. Sort of the middle of the grass roots organic movement. There were plenty of farmer’s markets and co-ops and just good old fashioned people. Sophie loved the atmosphere. She loved all the pretty flowers and trees and was itching to go to the park already.

It had taken a while to not only sell a lot of her possessions but also cut most ties with the vampire world. She still ran her synthetic blood business, it was still making enough profits she could provide Sophie all she wanted. But eventually one truck was all they needed to move. Her house in Louisiana was for sale and now she and Sophie found themselves on a first class cabin on an airplane. Sophie was amusing herself with coloring, every now and again looking out the window. Kiara meanwhile was on her new phone. She was leaving instructions to one of her employees to go to Bill’s house, take whatever possessions she had listed for him get those back, all her other clothes including her wedding dress and anything she’d bought for the wedding were set to be donated to charity.

Once she’d relayed the information she looked at her contacts and began deleting them. From the guards at the mansion, to jessica’s phone number and last but not least Bill’s number. She deleted and blocked them, closing that chapter in her life.
