Crystal smiled in the mirror. The new clothes felt so nice. Things were so different here. She thought back to this morning's conversation with Sam & Luna.
Luna insisted she keep several sets of clothes, claiming they would not fit much longer anyway. Crystal could tell she was pregnant and smiled. She was even more surprised when Sam told her that he was hiring her as a new relief waitress and giving her a place to stay.
She was on the verge of crying again while Sam explained that it was not free. Her rent would be deducted from her check, and that she still had to pay for her food and such from her tips. She was so overcome that she hugged Sam, earning an odd look from Luna. She pulled back, blushing and mumbling apologies. Sam handed her they key to her room and a little spending cash, explaining that she could pay him back out of her tips. Tears started to pull free from her eyes and streak down, but tears of happiness. She was going to have a fresh start here. Sam told her that she was starting in about three hours so she needed to grab some t shirts from inside the bar and change clothes.
Taking the key and money, she gathered the clothes Luna had given her and ran to her room to put everything away. She had a lot to do and refused to be late for her first shift. The last thing she did before leaving the room was tuck Jason's shirt inside the pillowcase on her bed.
She pulled her hair back in a pony tail. It would have to do until her hair grew out a bit more. Maybe she could really begin over again...
She pulled on Jason's boots and got ready to do a little shopping...
