It's Not Exactly Sin City But It'll Do

*Striking out to Shreveport for Teensy's last night as a free woman. We wished we could have made it to Vegas but this was a whirlwind romance and they do not want to wait a respectable amount of time to have a church wedding. So it's a weekend before the meeting everyone at the justice of the peace. So a Bachelorette Blow Out in Shreveport. Diamond Jacks had the best rooms, not so sure on the casino I won 150 bucks so being the big winner I have to buy dinner. So I wanted to eat outside of the hotel so I pick the Salt Grass Steak House. I love their steaks. We all loaded into my SUV and headed to the restaurant. Getting there with little wait we order with martini's all around. It's a celebration.*

*Alcide (Rikki) had told her that he had a lunch meeting scheduled today with a subcontractor that came highly recommended. The guy was supposed to be a tile genius and did custom work in each home he worked in. So getting up, showering and dressing in a suit, which she knew he hated, but she didnt mind it at all, it made her feel handsome and sexy. Dressing, she looked at his watch, grabbed his wallet, keys and sunglasses, and headed out to the truck. Jumping in, she headed to the Salt Grass Steakhouse.

Pulling in, she found a parking spot, climbed out and headed in, walking up to the Matre D'.*

*looking around, noticing what a nice place it was, she thought that she and Alcide would have to come here for dinner sometime. She listened as the female told him it would be a little bit, and that he could have a seat at the bar, or in the small waiting area they had. Heading over to the bar, she took a seat, and ordered a bottle of water, as she looked around*

*The appetizers were great the martinis are flowing, Teensy is getting loud but she always does. Necie kept shushing her but that would only make her louder. I watched my girlhood friends who have been with me in some part all my life. Caro smiling and coughing, I do worry so about her, I am sure her smoking will make her the first to go. She's the one who was the most ballsy. She had the ideas and the gumption to pursue them. She went to college marrying a doctor, he's gone now. Necie's first husband was best man in my wedding to Gordon. I love my wolf. Caro has ran out of martini and the waiter has yet to return. If he wants to live he better hurry, she drys out she will suck his soul out of his body. Smiling here he comes with 2 other waist staff with fresh drinks and food.*

*she was sitting there waiting, noticing the group of women at the other end of the bar, one of them getting louder and louder. Smiling to herself, she hoped to someday have friends like that, who at that age would want to come out partying with her, and she with them. Tipping her water up, she looked at Alcides watch, and wondered what was keeping the subcontractor, and their table. Calling out to the bartender, she ordered another water, and asked him to bring her a glass of ice for it. Turning back around, leaning back in against the barstool, crossing Alcides arms over his chest, trying to be as patient as possible*

*Catching the scent of another were in the building outside of my group scanning the restaurant for the twoie, the scent is familiar but I cannot place who it is. I know it's a alpha male, but other than that I can't tell. Looking behind me towards the bar seeing a familiar back, it's Alcide Herveaux. I don't want the girls to know he's here they sided with Gordon with the Debbie/Alcide breakup make up and then Debbie's death. I knew long before I got confirmation of her death Mama's know when their babies are hurt or worse. I quit feeling her long ago. Standing up telling the ladies I need to powder my nose and I will be right back. Caro yells,*

"Barbie you will fall behind in the drinking if you are gone too long."

*Nodding smiling, I am not worried I am not going to drink like the fish they are, I still have to drive us back to the hotel. Heading towards the restroom veering off to the bar walking up behind Alcide with noisy steps so I don't startle him. Sliding into the barstool next to him, smiling*

Fancy seeing you here Alcide Herveaux. How are you? How's your family? Noone sees them around Jackson?

*catching the scent of the female as she sat down beside her, she stared over at her. Obviously this female knew Alcide, but she had never met the female. Trying to act like she knew who she was talking to, she gave her a smile before answering*

Uh, I am good thanks, engaged to be married, and my family, well they... ummm. *looks around* they are good thanks. And how bout your family? how are they?

*hoping the woman didn't know she was not known to the person now residing inside the body of Alcide, she tried to keep the chit chat general, and indifferent, as much as possible. Tipping her water up, she looked over at the female*

Oh uh can I get you something to drink? *waving the bartender over*

*Shaking her head waving off the bartender, with a dismissive hand. This is Alcide but not. Rather than starting a game of 20 questions and have the girls come look for me, and possibly starting a pack war, I dismiss that thought as I want to get to the bottom of it. Engaged, very interesting.*

Well Gordon is fine and I am busy with the pack and my charities. Engaged again. Do we know this girl? So soon after Debbie's murder? I don't have a minute in the day that doesn't pass that I think about her. Alcide we loved you like our son. It was a shame that you and Debbie never mated. I know Debbie had her problems, but they could be overcome with understanding and the right person.

*the mention of Debbie, and the her mind buzzed with a million different thoughts. Thinking back to everything Alcide had told her about Debbie, her wolf was growling, but she would be nice, and try to do as Alcide would. Looking at her, taking a sip of water, setting it down*

Good to hear that Gordon is well and that you are keeping busy. And yes, engaged again and for the final time. I know Debbie's death is still painful, but there were too many problems with she and I, honestly, we were no good for one another. And no, you don't know her, she is my pack enforcer here in Shreveport, but you have never met her.

*picking up the water, taking a drink and looking around, then down at Alcides watch, then at the door, seeing his sub contractor come in the door, waving to him and standing up*

I hope things get better for your family, I really do. I need to run, my lunch meeting just walked in the door, and our table is ready. It was good seeing you again, and I wish you and your family well.

*Nodding and waving as Alcide walks away to meet his subcontractor, I pull out my compact checking my makeup touching up my lipstick before heading back to Drink Shreveport Dry 2013. Sitting down laying my purse beside me Caro and Necie are arguing about something that happened 30 years ago, I sigh placing my elbow on the table to prop my chin on my palm. Teensy looks at me rolling her eyes about Caro and Necie, as we age we have new aches and pains, but the arguments between us stay the same.*
