His legacy of his accomplishments as the King of Louisiana had not gone unnoticed and word had traveled far of the fair King. His ability of progression as he was able to control the infection/virus of Hep V had traveled wide across many continents, the Spanish Queen Amora had expressed her interest in joining the great nations from afar, but with the news that would soon follow through the chains of command that Bill Compton was married to a wolf had taken the vampire world by storm. Many curious of their relationship and their mark on the race.
But now it was time for a new era, with Bill and Kiara relocating back to Bon Temps after spending several years in Oklahoma as he became accustomed to the new realm that he now catered for, satisfied with their financial state as he wished to be in the place that catered to his un-beating heart, a place that he could call home.
With the date that spiked many fears in the hearts of humans as the ghouls of Halloween came out to play for that one night of the year. Halloween, the one night of the year that supes counted down to as they celebrated the life of those who had long passed. Tonight was the night of the Halloween reunion that he and Kiara had arranged so that their once little girl Sophie and now husband Brian would visit.
The air was cool and crisp as the autumn leaves gathered around the base of four worn and decayed headstones that though time had been lost to the elements as he stood as the base of the graves of those whom he had lost through time. His wife Caroline, his son Thomas, his daughter Sarah and his own grave William Compton.
With a bundle of Violets tied around several stems with a purple bow below their heads as he sunk down to his knees among the damp soil as he sat back on his heels. With his hand he brushed the leaves aside to reveal the worn engraved headstones of his human family. Taking one bunch of the flowers as he placed one bundle at the base of his wife Caroline, and then one to the base of his son Thomas's grave as he turned to his daughter Sarah's grave.
Dusting the leaves from the base as he placed the flowers against the grave as he sat and stared at her gravestone.
"....I am sorry....Sarah...Sorry that I failed you, as a father" he whispered.
Standing to his feet as he dusted himself off as a sudden breeze filled in around him, closing his eyes as he absorbed the cool breath of the evening night, he felt a tingle of warmth that swirled in around him and wrapped him in a moment of peace, just as quick as it arrived, it soon disappeared taking his guilt with him.
"......Sarah?......" he whispered again.
His eyes turning to the night sky as the deep dark endless sky was filled with sparkling stars that scattered across the glorious sky. But there was a star that captured his attention, three stars that stood close together, and he knew...He knew that they were all together, just as he hoped. As he gazed softly into the sky as he knew that wherever they were, his human family were together. As he carried on living with his wife Kiara, he could rest in peace knowing that they were not alone...
As his gaze dropped to his estate home as he could see lights shining bright out of every window, soon the party would begin, soon Sophie would be home with Brian. But tonight was a night filled with blessing, his family would be reunited once again. Casting a glance to his own grave where his body should have been, but yet still walked the earth. He knew that a part of him lay there, his human life was buried along side his family.
But now he had a new family....A new life.
Turning from the graves as he began a slow walk back towards the mansion, knowing that Kiara would have been frantic of his whereabouts...Tonight was a new start, a time to celebrate. A time for his family to come together once again.
