She had been thinking all day. Eric was back at Fangtasia to do the books and check on things, and she was sitting at home curled up on their bed watching TV. On her mind? The fact that she was married (by vampire standards, at least) to Eric but she was human and would die in mere years was weighing more and more heavily on her mind. She knew that sleeping was going to be hard tonight, so it made sense to take a sleeping pill she had gotten from Lafayette after all that had happened in Vegas.
Knowing it wouldn't be long before it kicked in, she turned the volume on the TV down and lay back in bed, trying to calm down her mind. All she could think of was what if? What if things were different? Were there ways she could change it? Instead of her being a fae, and human, what would happen if she were to be a vampire like Eric? Could they have their happily ever after?
She yawned and pulled the blankets around her, snuggling deeply into her bed before sleep overtook her.
And then.... she dreamed.
