Bill's eyes fluttered open, feeling a weight heavy on his chest, something that constricted him from moving. Dirt, moist dirt flooded his mouth, a bitter feeling washed through him.
Was this what death felt like for vampires?

Forcing his arms to move as his fingers clawed at the dirt, hearing the swift movement of the creatures that crept over his body, as he lifted his body from the ground.
How did he get here?

Had God sent his human wife Caroline in a form of an angel to save him? To save him from the pain of the True Death.
Scurrying from the dirt that constricted him, he emerged head first from the ground that sheltered him, chirping from the crickets surrounded him. His body still partially burned on his pale arms, burns that had not fully healed. He hoisted himself out of the ditch that he had been put in and covered in dirt to shield him from the rays of the morning sun. The moon was high in the sky, illuminating his skin, making his skin look more pale.
He had been saved, someone had saved him.
Caroline.
It was then Bill Compton chose a different life, he chose to change his life, to not become like all the other vampires, to be different.
He wanted to live, Caroline had given him this chance at a new life. Caroline had given him clarity, clarity to change himself to be what he wanted too be. Not to be the way Lorena had made him to be.

It seemed Clarity had its way of finding those who seek it.
