The Baby Is Coming!

Hoyt Fortenberry had been preparing for this all his life, he knew this what he wanted. Having waited for Cael to arrive which seemed to take forever as he had been rushing around getting things ready and prepared for Amy. Having searched out a bowl of warm water, plenty of sheets and blankets for when the baby arrived.

He helped Amy onto the bed as she continued to pant like she knew how to do after they both spent time watching videos of women giving birth having been to the baby store and bought several DVD's for them to watch. But Amy was no ordinary woman, she was half Fae, Hoyt had no clue if this would be a regular birth or not.

"Do you need anything else? Something to drink? Something to eat?" he asked hurriedly, starting to panic a little. Turning to Cael as he stood at the end of the bed "What do I do!" he snapped at him.

Cael followed Hoyt and Amy to the bedroom. As soon as Amy was laying down he pushed his way forward and sat by her side. "You!" he pointed to Hoyt. "Lock all the door and windows and bring as many clean blankets as possible" he said.

Amy panted heavily. She felt pressure build up inside her as pain began to kick in. Her body wanted to push but her mind kept getting in the way. Only Cael's soothing hand on her stomach seemed to calm her.

"Shh little sister....breathe.... you need to be calm...let the babies know its ok to come out into the world" he whispered.

"You! Lock all the door and windows and bring as many clean blankets as possible"

Hoyt nodded instantly as he headed outside their bedroom to the linen closet as he began pilling up all the blankets that he could find. Emptying the cupboard of everything as he headed straight back into his and Amy's bedroom handing the blankets to Cael.

Swiftly turning as he locked the door behind him as he headed straight for the window as he made sure the windows were locked and the curtains drawn as he switched on the light illuminating the room as he caught Cael's last words;

"Babies?.....As in two?"

Cael nodded. "I should have warned you...even has a half fae it is natural for fae to have more than one child at a time" he said as he kept trying to soothe Amy.

Amy groaned in pain again. Cael held her hand. "Push Amy.... one Push..." he said as he tried to instruct her.

Amy pushed, feeling like she was being ripped in half. She'd seen other fae give birth and they all looked like they were having orgasms of pleasure. Well this was the total opposite.

Cael looked at Hoyt. "Get to the foot of the bed Hoyt" he said as he moved to prop Amy's legs up.

Amy moaned. This all seemed mortifying. She had barely been intimate with Hoyt and now he'd be up and close with her in the most unsexiest moment of her life.

"Get to the foot of the bed Hoyt"

Hoyt frowned as he left Amy's side to move down to the bottom of the bed as Cael was propping up Amy's legs, he didn't know what to do. With sweat beginning to form on his brow, he was petrified of this moment, but he wanted to meet them.

"Your doing great Amy...Keep breathing....He he hooooo. He he hooooo" he said trying to help her get into a rhythm of steady breathing.

Turning to Cael "What do you want me to do?" he quizzed.

Cael kept trying to soothe Amy. "Just get some blankets ready and.....don't say anything stupid" he added as he urged Amy to push.

Amy let out a scream as she pushed. This sucked and everything felt like it was fighting her efforts.

Her whole body began to glow as she pushed again. Cael nodded "thats it... another push Amy you're doing great" he whispered.

Those DVD's lied....They all lied! This looked far more painful than how it looked on those video's of women giving birth...As he gathered up several blankets as he moved closer to Cael, wincing as Amy let out a blood curling scream.

"You can do it Amy" he reassured her.

It was then her body started to glow....His mouth gaped open as he just stood there, what the heck was that? It looked like something out of Star Trek.

"Is-Is this normal?" he questioned Cael.

Cael nodded "Yes normal" he said as he held Amy's hand. "Another push Amy.... you can do it little sister" he whispered.

Amy pushed again. She was sweating and her heart was racing. Something felt like it was tearing its way out of her thats for sure.

"Get ready" said Cael as Amy pushed again. There was a moment of silence before the very unique sound of a wailing baby filled the room.

'Get ready'

Hoyt was ready....He had been waiting for this moment. As he held the blankets ready all gathered together in his arms.

This was it...It was all happening.

As a silence descended upon them all and out came a burst of cries, Hoyt's heart swelled in his chest, a lump in his throat grew. He was speechless. As he opened the blankets as Cael placed the newborn baby in his arms. He could already feel tears pouring down his face.

"It's a boy!....Amy its a boy" he grinned at her.

Amy smiled before she let out another painful groan. Cael went to her side again. "We're not done yet" he said as he touched Amy's still distended belly.

Cael leaned down. "deep breaths Amy.... push... breathe then push" he whispered.

Amy was exhausted. She was tired of having to push and the pain settling in her lower body was not making things any better. She summoned up whatever strength she had to push.

Cael looked at Hoyt. "Quit oggling the first one, get ready for the next" he said, motioning with his hands for Hoyt to grab another blanket.

Hoyt already had everything prepared for one baby, but not two. He gently placed the baby boy in a woven basket next to the bed as he made sure the baby was covered and wrapped up in the blanket.

"Quit ogling the first one, get ready for the next"

Hoyt nodded swiftly as he grabbed several more blankets and stood next to Cael, another baby. Was it going to be a boy or a girl?

"I'm ready Cael" he called out over Amy's cries.

Cael nodded and leaned down towards Amy. "One last big push Amy... you're almost there" he whispered.

Amy felt drained of all energy despite her body still glowing. Almost reluctantly she pushed again, letting out another cry.

Cael was ready for the second baby as he helped bring it into the world. It too cried with a healthy set of lungs.

Amy's body stopped glowing as she closed her eyes, exhausted beyond belief.

"Here's your second child Hoyt" said Cael as he handed the infant to him.

Hoyt gracefully accepted the beautiful newborn baby into his arm as he wrapped the blanket around to shield the baby from the cold.

"Another boy Amy....Its another boy" he grinned cheerily.

It was all over, it had happened so fast. Sweating was dripping from his brow as he held the second baby boy close to his chest.

"Shhhhh..." he turned to face Cael "Thank you"

He slowly turned to Amy as he could see that she was relaxed once again, her body having stopped glowing.

"Come meet your mama" he whispered as he slowly handed the baby boy to her. Instantly turning to carefully cradle their firstborn close to his chest as he perched himself on the edge of the bed.

Cael stepped back.

Amy mustered enough strength to hold her first born infant son in her arms. He was so tiny and his head covered in a dusting of dark hair. He resembled Hoyt definitely.

She looked up at Hoyt, unable to find the words to describe what she felt for him and for their two children.

Hoyt thought that he had experienced everything there was to feel, but this was a whole new feeling. It took over him, he loved them, he truly loved them. He gently kissed Amy's head, knowing that she was tired.

"They are so beautiful.....I love you Amy" he bashed.

They were here, his two beautiful sons, Amy...His family was complete.

Cael cleared his throat to get Hoyt's attention.

"She'll need to rest tonight and by no means are you to unlock the doors until she is fully rested. There may not be full fae, and there may not be too many vamps up north but they're still quite vulnerable to anything supernatural" he said sternly before his expression softened.

He walked over to Amy and kissed her forehead. "You did great Amy.... dad would be proud of you" he whispered.

Amy smiled, still holding her son who had promptly fallen asleep swaddled in his blanket. "Thanks Cael...for everything"

"I promise...And Cael. Thank you, for everything. Your always welcome in our home" he smirked as he was to preoccupied with the baby boy in his arms.

He hadn't told his mama yet that Amy was pregnant, not sure how to really explain how she got pregnant so fast and now giving birth.

"They are so perfect Amy" he beamed as the baby boy he held in his arms had wisps of red hair just like Amy.

Cael inclined his head and in a flash of light he was gone, leaving the two new parents alone.

Amy smiled, watching her son wiggle while he slept. "Did you finally settle on some names Hoyt?" she asked, her voice weak from exhaustion. She and Hoyt hadn't had much time to think of names, having not even known the gender of their children until now.

Hoyt's mind drew a blank, sure he and Amy briefly talked about a few girl names. But they had never really considered a boys name, and two for that fact. But then he had an idea.

"How about Lucas and....and Elijah?" he spoke as he turned to Amy to see her reaction of the names "If you don't like them we can choose something different?"

Boys, and two of them. Everything was happening so fast, his head was beginning to spin.

Amy smiled down at her brow haired baby. "What do you think....Lucas?" she asked. The baby wiggled and settled more in her arms, content with just sleeping through a big decision.

"I'll take that as a yes..." she whispered, kissing the top of the infant's head. "I like the names; Lucas and Elijah" she smiled up at Hoyt.

"Baby Lucas" he repeated, he turned his head to the baby boy is his arms "And that makes you Elijah" he smirked as he gently kissed his forehead.

He was so content with how things were, he had his sons and he had Amy.

Could life get any more perfect right now?

Amy smiled as she leaned back on the pillows. She felt so tired all she wanted to do was sleep for a few days. She managed to turn over and place little Lucas on the bed right beside her, placing her hand protectively over his little stomach.


She watched as Hoyt came over with little Elijah who she now saw had a bit of red hair on him. "You're finally a father Hoyt..."

"You're finally a father Hoyt..."

Hoyt smirked proudly as he walked around the bed as he held little Elijah in his arms as he sat slowly on the bed as he placed him next to his brother Lucas.

"They are so perfect...I don't know what to say...I love you Amy..You have given me the greatest gift ever" he whispered as he noticed Elijah and Lucas both falling into a deep sleep.

He gazed down at both baby boys, they were perfect.

She smiled, watching the two infants fall fast asleep all snuggled up in their blankets.

"We'll have to make the nursery bigger now" she commented, seeing as how they hadn't really planned for multiple babies.

"Yeah, we will. We will have to get another bed or just a bigger one...But I don't care. They are here and that is all that matters" he beamed.

Nothing else mattered, money...etc. All he cared was that Elijah and Lucas were here, Amy was well. The world continued to spin, Hoyt would do anything and everything to protect his family, no matter the costs.

"Betty and George would be proud of you" he whispered not wanting to disturb the boys.
