Sam opened his eyes and rubbed them as he groaned a little, stretching. He looked down to see Emma fast asleep cuddled next to him. Her tiny little arms wrapped around his waist, her head resting on his stomach. He looked over at Luna still asleep on the bed next to him and wondered what time it was. It had to be late. The last couple of days were pure hell, after escaping from the Authority, spending a night in a hotel in Baton Rouge and finally making it home to Bon Temp he was ready for a vacation. A long, long vacation. Luna had finally started to feel better after lots of rest and liquids. He was finally able to have her agree to skinwalking only when it was life or death, because the energy it took from her was weighing on her health.
Lafayette had left him numerous messages on his cell about the bar and losing business. Sam told the employees if they could think of a way to bring in more customers they got a raise, so that's how a 50's sock hop was brought up by none other than the girls who worked for him. Lafayette thought it was a joke, but he liked the idea. It was new and interesting. He gave each waitress a dollar raise, not much but in the server industry it was a lot.
He slowly moved Emma's arm and moved as quietly as possible to get up from the bed. Leaving Emma sleeping next to Luna as he headed for the kitchen to check the time. Seeing the clock flashing he opened his cell and seen it was only four in the afternoon. Oh, hell the party was planned for....that's right. Tonight. He threw his boots on and hurried to the bar to help with what he could.
